It has been days every since Redmond arrived in the Moon Dew pack and he almost lost his life when he met alpha Gallot and handed him Cane’s letter, which demanded his responsibility for the fraud that one of his mistresses had done against the Howling Wolf pack for announcing the baby in her stomach was Cane’s.
Cane wanted a heavy settlement or else, he would march his people to Moon Dew pack and a battle couldn’t be avoided. After all, what happened was an insult.
"Sixty percent shares of the Black Market?! Is he crazy?!" Alpha Gallot ripped apart the letter and commanded his warrior to drag Redmond out and cut his head, he was going to send Redmond’s head to Cane!
"No! Wait! Wait!" Redmond growled at the warriors, who were about to catch him. "I am just a messenger! Why did you punish me?!"
"Do you think the alpha cared about that?" One of the warriors mocked at Redmond, as he grabbed his collar, proceeded to drag him out of the pack house and behead him in the yard.
"Wait! Don’t you want to know the father of that baby?!" Redmond was still trying to buy himself time, so he could talk more with alpha Gallot.
"She is a slut! Why should I care who is the father of the baby?!" Alpha Gallot was very clear with Sofia when he instructed her to get pregnant with Cane’s baby, but she actually went behind his back and got pregnant with someone else?! The audacity! That woman must be very stupid if she thought, she could pass a random baby as the the descendant of the royal blood! "It will be better if she died the moment she gave birth to that trash baby."
Redmond’s jaw clenched tightly when he heard that. It took him some time to get a control of himself again.
"I know! What a slut!" Redmond exclaimed. "But, do you really want to kill me when you have the opportunity to turn the table against Cane?! Have you forgotten, what pack I am from?!"
The way Redmond casually addressed Cane without his title intrigued alpha Gallot. He raised his hands to stop his warriors from surrounding Redmond.
More so, alpha Gallot just realized that Redmond was indeed from Blue Moon pack, he met him a few times before in the past when he visited that pack, though he didn’t pay attention to him, but his red hair stood out.
"Explain yourself?"
"Alpha Gallot, if you dislike Cane, how do you think I feel about him?" Redmond’s eyes flickered. He then continued. "He turned some of my pack member to be slave and has the audacity to demand my loyalty and use my fellow warriors as the guard for his pack!" Redmond was seething. "Do you really think I want to see him subduing another pack?"
Alpha Gallot let out a derisive laugh. "You think too high about him! Do you really believe he will be able to win the battle against my pack?!" He asked in mocking tone and the rest of the warriors followed his cue to laugh at Redmond’s face for his declaration.
Yet, Redmond didn’t immediately give a reply, as he waited for the thunderous laugh to subside a little and dropped the fact they had completely forgotten.
"We are talking about the alpha, who killed all the southern alphas and make himself as the only alpha in that region. At the very least, he took control over thousands of warriors in the south. Do you really think you can handle it?"
All the laughter died out almost immediately, as you could hear the pin drop silence in the main hall. The black rain poured down this pack as well, which made their mood became even gloomier than before they tasted a little bit of joy to mock this warrior.
"Are you trying to tell me, you are going to betray your alpha?!" alpha Gallot growled at Redmond, he found this as a humiliation, but he couldn’t act rashly with this warrior, because he saw a potential.
"He is not my alpha, I don’t pledge my loyalty to him." Redmond was telling the truth. He had never pledged his loyalty to Cane.
Alpha Gallot squinted his eyes. This was a news for him because he assumed all the member of the Blue Moon pack, especially their warriors had pledged to Cane.
"Do you really think you can fool me by saying you are willing to betray Cane, since you are going to die now, when you have been following him like a dog all this time?" alpha Gallot scoffed. "You are not smart enough to fool me!"
"I stay with him all this time to find an opportunity to send him back straight to his slavery days. Do you really think I am not holding a grudge against him?" Redmond took a step closer toward alpha Gallot, so the other alpha could see the hatred in his eyes. "A slave became an alpha? What a joke. He should stay as a slave alongside with his pack member. I want to put them in their place. They are more fun when they were slave. Have you ever tasted any women from the Howling Wolf pack? They are better than most slut." Redmond grinned devilishly.
Of course, alpha Gallot had tasted some of them when they visited the Blue Moon pack during the Howling Wolf pack’s slavery days.
"What you said, still not convinced me." Alpha Gallot sat back on his chair and tilted his head, waiting for Redmond to come up with something to convince him. "Even Gerald’s daughter is scared to go against Cane."
Redmond scorned. "She is an idiot, naïve and stupidly gullible. What do you expect from a sickly runt like her?"
"Well, that’s not what I heard." Alpha Gallot leaned his back against the backrest of the chair and pulled one of his women, who was standing by his side to sit on his lap. "I heard she has a healing power or something like that. She healed one of the warrior’s legs."
