The way how the Serafim and the knights were not cooperating in this meeting was not something they had agreed upon.
They had discussed this beforehand with the presence of Iris, but with the condition, they would be transparent with the information they had regarding the Decratic. After all, they were against the same entity and they had to gather all the information they could in order to defeat him.
"Alpha Cane!" Cedric exclaimed when he watched Cane, Iris, Lou and all the people that came with him walked out of the room. "We have not yet done with our discussion!"
Lou turned his body around and faced the annoying knights. "Do you call this a discussion? You only want to gather the information without giving a shit in return!"
Cane said nothing, since Lou had voiced out what he wanted to say in harsher way. He chose him to come along because he had involved himself too deep and there was not a way out for this merchant anymore. More so, he needed his power.
Cane couldn’t rely on Haco and he needed a sorcerer within his people, based on that Lou was the right person to fill the role, as long as he could stay away from his mate, working with him was not bad.
Just like right now, Cane didn’t need to utter a single word when Lou had talked on his behalf everything he wanted to say and more.
"You need to stop cursing!" Cedric glared at Lou.
"And you need to stop thinking you can get everything by waving your status as the Serafim’s knights. If this Decratic is someone that your Serafim needs to destroy, by all means, do it." Lou was still upset because he almost died by the hand of this Decratic. "We have upcoming war here to think about."
Lou glanced when Cane took Iris out of the room and he followed them out, so did the rest of them. This time, they didn’t turn around when Cedric called them back.
However, when they were already away from the meeting room, Lou hastened his steps and blocked Iris and Cane way. He stood in front of the two of them with arms crossed.
"Don’t you think I need some explanation? My poor heart keeps beating so fast with curiosity." Lou was being dramatic again. He glanced at Iris’s stomach and felt annoyed every time he saw how big it got. Why would she need to be pregnant with his child?! "You have dragged me too far, this is not even worthy even if you promised me you will help me expand my business to the holy kingdom. In this rate, they will hate me to the point I can’t even trade anywhere. It’s your fault too for how the black market was destroyed. At the very least, I deserved to know what is going on."
Iris looked at Cane and then Lou back and forth, but the two of them were in stalemate. She didn’t want to voice it out, but Lou was right, they had involved him too deep to put him in dark place and not let him knew about the crucial information.
"I am in, or I am out. I don’t want to be in between." Probably this was the first time Lou looked very serious. His voice was deep and calm, he didn’t look like he forced himself to be part of this craziness, but if he was going to step in, he wanted to know everything.
And Cane finally spoke. "All of you can leave."
Lou was smiling within when he watched all of them left, including the beta and the gamma. He wondered, whether the two of them knew what Cane was going to tell him or not.
"Make it warm," Cane said all of sudden.
"What?" Lou caught something that Cane threw at him, it was a magic stone.
"Make the bench warm." He repeated what he said earlier and nodded at the bench next to him. His intention was clear, he wanted the bench was warm enough for Iris to sit.
"Do you think...!" Lou was about to blow his top, but when he caught Iris’s sight and how round she was, he was pretty concerned she would stumble and roll on the ground with that body. "Ck!"
Lou waved his hand and the snow on the bench and around it melted.
"Oh, this is warm, thank you." Iris looked surprised and happy when she sat comfortably there.
"Here! do you want to see more magic?" Lou became excited to see how Iris was happy with this small thing.
"Don’t overwork yourself," Cane said. "Do you want to hear this or should I write you a letter about it?"
Lou clenched his jaw, but he quickly composed himself and faced the alpha. "Fine. Let’s talk. What is going on here?" he glanced at Iris. "She is not a runt. I want you to start the explanation from her."
Lou had been very interested with Iris’s background, ever since he met her for the first time and now he had a chance to know more about her, especially after she could revive her power, he wouldn’t let this chance slide.
"She knows how to find the magic stone, having the Serafim’s pet and now she has healing ability. What is she?"
