Lou let out an earth shattering scream, as he tried to get away from Rei, his veins turned black under his skin, as if the skin had turned translucent and it was a devastating sight.
Seeing that, Iris immediately grabbed a glass that Abby used to drink earlier and shattered it to the ground, she immediately picked the sharp shard to be used to stab Rei.
However, the fire that burned his body prevented her to come closer, unless she wanted to get herself burned.
Out of impulse, when Iris decided to go ahead, a loud bang came from the door, as it flew out of its hinges and black wisp strike the burning Rei.
Iris didn’t use her black wisp, because she needed to come in contact with Rei in order to purify the dark magic within him.
However, Rei dodged the attack swiftly and escaped through the window, dropping the merchant and left the room.
"Lou!" Iris screamed on the top of her lungs, as she scrambled to reach Lou, she threw away the sharp shard in her hand and approached Lou. Cane came as well with Jace and Redmond. "Cane! We need Grace! We need her!"
Jace immediately rushed out of the room in his beast form to get the healer. This mission was completely a failure.
"Cane, what should I do? What should I do?" Iris was trembling, the sight of Lou gutted her. She was afraid beyond word.
The last time Iris saw Lou in critical condition was when Decratic stabbed him, but even then she knew she could do something to preserve his life, but right now, his condition was something she had never seen before.
Lou’s veins popped out and it had turned black, while his skin became translucent, his eyes turned dark and blood oozed out from his eyes and ears. He was breathing heavily.
"Calm down, Iris, calm down." Cane grabbed her hands to stop her from trembling.
"We shouldn’t have done this, I am sorry, I am sorry." Iris felt very guilty because this mission was her idea. She was the one, who suggested it because she thought it would benefit them to get Abby’s confession privately without the presence of the Holy Kingdom.
However, it completely backfired on them.
Abby came closer too and saw Lou’s condition. This was bad, really bad. "Luna, you need to calm down, we can do something."
Abby was not affected by Lou’s horrible condition, because she didn’t have an attachment feeling toward him, but Iris was shaken up, because she thought she was going to lose him and that was because of her fault.
She shouldn’t have given the idea...
"Luna! We can still save him." Abby shook her head. "Incredible... he still survived... how he could still survive?" she muttered to herself. It seemed, Abby knew what happened to Lou and the merchant supposed to be dead by now.
The fact he still had his life intact was incredulous.
"Iris!" Cane raised his voice to get her attention before her mind wandered around wildly. "We still can save him, you need to calm down!"
Iris was startled, but it helped her to get back to her senses. She blinked away her tears and started to concentrate, as she toughened her heart and faced Lou again. Abby was sitting on Lou’s right side, while Iris took his left, both of them took his hands and started to channel divine power within him.
Redmond clenched his jaw, he frowned deeply. He didn’t really like Lou, but the thought there was a chance he didn’t make it, didn’t settle well with him. He didn’t know what to do and just stood there, hoping for the two Serafims worked well together to save the merchant’s life.
At the same time, a few people came through the door, but it was not Jace and Grace, instead it was the elders, who immediately screeched upon seeing the state of this room and the aftermath of the fight between Rei and Lou.
"What is going on here?!" Elder Xarex roared. "What is happening?!"
Redmond immediately blocked them from coming closer. "Step back!" he growled. They came here right away because Cane lost Rei during their busy time to reorganize this pack and the people from the Black Market.
After looking for him everywhere and they couldn’t find him, the alpha immediately came to this room with conclusion the plan had failed and Rei knew about it. He only played dumb and waited for them to make this move.
"You should be the one, who steps back!" Elder Xarex roared. "What are you doing inside the Serafim’s bedroom?!"
"There is no way Rei would have done it! You were the one, who barged into the Serafim’s bedroom!" freёweɓnovel.com
