Abby heard everything. She heard how Elder Rose said that she only loved Ari, the second prince. You didn’t even need to use your brain to know that she cheated on her father to be with her lover.
However, Elder Rose condemned her for being with Liam when she didn’t even cheat with anyone. The hypocrisy here was very appalling.
Did she condemn her because she was born from the man that she didn’t love? But, what about her first daughter? Gabriel? Why she treated her way better?
Elder Rose was surprised to see Abby and the way she looked at her, but his main focus right now was Iris and there was an urgent matter they needed to handle.
Meanwhile, Cane didn’t seem surprised to see Elder Rose with Iris and when she asked for some time with her, he agreed.
At this point, Iris was too powerful for Elder to harm her.
"I will be with the babies," Cane said.
"Kiss them for me." Iris tiptoed and kissed both Cane’s cheeks.
"I will." Cane tilted his head. "Where is my kiss then?"
Iris blushed and it had been a while for Cane to see her blush like this, thus he took the initiative to retrieve his kiss instead.
After Cane left, there were only Iris, Abby and Elder Rose in the empty space near the dungeon. All the warriors stood on guard around them, but they were not too close to listen to their conversation, but not too far, just in case they were needed right away.
"Despite everything, the alpha is a good man. Someone that you can rely on." The tone that Elder Rose used didn’t sit well with Iris, since she had told her not to act like that.
"It’s not your place to judge. I don’t care what you think of him, I don’t want to hear any of it." Iris fished out the air magic stone. This magic stone was the only one in this realm, it was made by the first Serafim’s last breath. "You can start now."
Abby stared at the air magic stone. She had never touched it before, let alone learned about it. Elder Rose and the other elders had never given her the chance to even take a glimpse of it, but right now, her mother would teach Iris.
Abby felt like this was not her place to stay, thus she chose to walk away. If this would be the end of them, she wanted to be with her baby.
However, Iris caught her hand. "Where are you going?" She frowned. "Stay here. I don’t know if she will deceive me or not, I need you to help me."
There was this silence before a smile bloomed on her lips. "Sure."
On the other hand, Cane gave the kisses that Iris entrusted to him to their babies. His firstborn giggled and made baby noise, while his second born only spared him a glance before he fell asleep again.
It was easy to distinguish them, because their second born was smaller than the other and he was a quiet baby, almost never made any sound, unless he was hungry.
"All of you can leave," Cane said. He put down her babies on the bed, side by side, while his firstborn was making noises.
Hanna and Aliana then left the room, but Zale and Lil Thing were still there.
"I said all of you," Cane repeated it again.
"Why? I am the babies’ guardian." Zale protested, he hugged Lil Thing. "Lil Thing is here, I will be here too." He showed his stubborn side. "Oh, more so, I have learned your trick with the stone, you need to see this." He tried to buy some time so he could stay a little bit longer.
Cane narrowed his eyes when Zale enthusiastically took out his stone from his pocket, but all of sudden he stopped, his gaze was empty and his eyes shifted into blue color.
"Zale?" Cane frowned. He was alerted when his eyes changed color. It was the same blue like Iris’s. He immediately stood up and was about to approach him, but the young boy had shifted into his beast and dashed away from the room without saying anything.
However, it didn’t only happen to Zale, because Cedric, Cezi and Lou experienced the same thing. They felt this urge to go, as if there was something that called them, someone... as if this was a duty that they had to fulfill.
