"Zaya... Zaya..."
"Stop calling her name. How can she sleep if you kept calling her?"
"But, she has been sleeping all day."
"Shouldn’t you two be in bed now?" Cane crossed his arms, as the two little boys in front of him startled with the presence of their father. They were too engrossed with their little baby sister, thus they didn’t notice their father’s presence.
Cane almost smiled to see how his boys’ expression when they were being caught red handed to sneak around in the middle of the night.
Their blue eyes shone brightly in this dimly lit room, while behind them, inside her crib, their baby sister was giggling, as if she knew that her brother got into a trouble.
Iris just gave birth to their daughter five months ago and this bundle of joy was truly a blessing in their life and her two older brothers adored her so much.
This was not the first time for Zander and Zenith sneaked around and came to Zaya’s nursery room, which was the room next to Cane and Iris’s room, the same nursery room that they used for Zander and Zenith.
"So, what is your excuse now?" Cane walked toward the crib and checked on Zaya, she babbled and moved her little arms and legs when she saw him, the sight would be able to melt the hardest rock.
"Zan dragged me to go with him," Zenith said.
"You used that excuse before." Cane ruffled Zenith’s hair. "Moreover, you can refuse him if you didn’t want."
"Dad, you know how persistence Zan is." fгeewёbnoѵel.cσm
Meanwhile, Zander put on an innocent face, he blinked his big blue eyes at Cane like a puppy. "Daddy, I missed Zaya. I know she is awake, so I came to play with her until she fell asleep again."
"You are aware that you have training tomorrow morning, right?" Cane showed them stern expression which made them avoided his eyes. "I heard from Joel and Finn both of you didn’t pay attention to the training at all."
"I paid attention to the training. I won a fight against Zen!" Zander complained.
"Only because your brother is too sleepy to fight you."
Zenith was about to yawn, but he pressed his lips when he heard what his father said. Cane could only shake his head. Joel and Finn couldn’t stop them and weirdly enough, the two of them went out of their bedrooms at the same time, which was amazing.
If it happened one time, it must be a coincidence, but it happened all the time.
"How can you do that?" Cane asked an explanation from them.
"Zan called me," Zenith replied. He crept to the crib and nudged Zaya’s cheek, as the baby giggled. "Zan kept calling me, until I couldn’t sleep."
"He knocked on your door?" Cane frowned. Joel or Finn must have stopped them to make such noise.
"No. He called me in here." Zenith tapped his forehead. "His voice is in my head."
Cane was surprised to hear that. It was well known that most of the Howling Wolf pack lost their ability to mindlink, but from Zenith and Zander’s explanation, Cane could tell, without doubt that what happened between them was indeed mind link.
"Was that bad thing?" Zander asked, after he told his father how he discovered this ability for the first time, but he could only use it on Zenith. Probably, because they were twin?
Cane would talk about this to Iris the next day, but unfortunately he forgot, until the discovery dragged to another week and then months.
Zaya was eight months old now and she was a happy baby, but you would be able to notice one thing about her, that she didn’t like someone touched her hair, she would become fussy if they tried to tie her hair or put an accessory on her head. She would take it off.
"Anneer..." Zaya babbled.
"Hear that! Hear that! She said my name!" Zander was bouncing up and down when he heard that, he went to Joel and Finn to let them know about it, also to Ezgar, Rye and Zale.
Zenith frowned. "Say Zenith."
Iris giggled and bent her body slightly, while Zaya in her arms stretched out her arms toward Zenith, laughed happily to see her brother. The little one even twisted her body, she wanted to be carried by him.
Zenith kissed her cheek. "I am dirty. I will play with you after my training, okay?"
