Chapter 154
Raphael's POV I hate the person that l've become.
Last night, I left Daphne's home after making sure that l've thoroughly reminded her about who she belongs to. This morning, she was in a rush like usual and we didn't have the long overdue conversation.
So, I just finished the border checks with Alex, and guess what I'm doing right now? I'm running over to Alessia's pack like a fool led by his dick.
I didn't make any mention of coming over today neither did I get any invitation that suggested that I should but somehow, I find myself being pulled towards Daphne. After spending two nights with her in my arms, spending the night alone seems like a faith worse than death.
Hence why l'm outside my borders and running towards Daphne's.
After bypassing the guards at the borders -a task that is still suspiciously too easy, I stand in front of Daphne's house and give the door a sharp knock.
The door flies open a second later and I stare at a fully awake Daphne.
"You weren't asleep?" | ask in surprise. It was around eleven pm when I left my pack and I definitely expected her to already be in bed but my greediness didn't give one fuck about that.
She shakes her head and opens the door wider for me to pass through. "I couldn't fall asleep so I decided to watch a movie."
Stepping into the house, my gaze goes over to the TV that's playing a movie. Would it be conceited to go on a limb and assume that l'm the reason why she's still up by this time? Maybe she was waiting up for me.
The smile that she gives me doesn't help make me less delusional. Her face actually brightens up and her eyes twinkle.
Yep, I'm definitely going to take due credit for that reaction.
"I didn't think that you were going to show up," she murmurs.
"There is nothing that could have kept me away," I whisper, stepping closer to her, and requiring her to tip her head back to meet my gaze. I see my chance and I take it. Lowering my head, I press my lips against hers for what was meant to be a chaste kiss but Daphne snakes her arms around my neck and the thoughts of slowing things down fly out the window alongside my self-control.
I come back to my senses after a thorough make-out session with Daphne that leaves us gasping for air.
I press my forehead against hers. "That's not why I came here."
Kissing her until we both can't feel our lips is definitely among the reasons for me showing up, but it isn't the most pressing issue here. "I think we need to talk," I start, bracing myself for the conversation ahead.
Daphne nods.
"First, we should probably put a name on what this is." I'm still holding my breath in the hope that Daphne will decide to have a relationship with me but I'm not that dumb or delusional. "What are we?" I ask, leaving the ball in her court.
