" Uh... I'm not surprised, just a little bit surprised " She managed to say.
Liam looked at her like she was crazy " What are you saying? "
She shifted a bit on her seat and tried to relax " Okay, what exactly do we need to talk about? "
He eyed her " I believe I just told you "
" Yeah, you said something about wedding, right? " She asked, rather foolishly.
" Carla, what's wrong with you? " He asked
She stammered " Uh? Oh... Nothing, I just... I just... "
Liam frowned " Don't tell me you're scared now that our wedding day is coming closer "
" Uh... Not really " She said quietly.
He sighed and stood up. For a second, Carla's breath caught up in her throat as she marveled at the guy's height one more time. He looked huge, domineering and his presence only commanded respect. She watched him come over to her and sat, making the couch sink under his enormous weight.
He took her hands in his " Look into my eyes Carla, are you scared of me? " He asked softly and somehow, she felt some butterflies in her stomach.
Slowly, she raised her eyes to meet his " Not you particularly, I'm scared of the whole thing, my life is gonna change in few days and you think I'd be fine? No Liam, I'm damn scared "
He didn't say anything immediately, and pulled her into a hug " Everything will be fine Carla, I promise you that "
She pulled back from the hug and looked at him with eyes filled with hope " Really? "
He nodded and smiled " Yes baby, we'll be fine. We're gonna take this as light as possible, okay? "
She nodded quickly and blinked back the tears of gratitude that threatened to fall " Okay "
" And only few people will be present, right? " He smirked
She nodded again " Right " and smiled too.
" Can you see? You don't have to be scared about a thing " He said with a wink and she blushed.
***********
The big day came, the day Carla was to become Mrs Blake officially. Everything went well and it wasn't as bad as Carla had dreaded. Only few people were present and she liked that. She knew the paparazzi would be there if they caught a wiff of the famous billionaire's wedding in which Liam had successfully made sure didn't leak out. They were not sure for how long they would be able to keep their marriage a secret but one thing was sure, it would eventually be out in the open. Carla dreaded having her name on the front of the paper.
" Hey, are you okay? " Liam appeared from nowhere and broke into her thoughts.
She shook her head " Nothing, I'm fine, just a little bit tipsy "
" We should excuse ourselves then, it's late anyway " Liam said
Carla nodded and took a step but suddenly felt dizzy and started to sway but Liam caught her in time.
" Whoa! Are you okay? " He whispered, his forehead etched in concern.
She nodded slowly, her eyes drooping " Yeah, I'm... I'm cool "
" Yeah sure you are, come on let's get you out of here " Liam said sarcastically and scooped her up. She didn't even protest, given how tired she was.
Liam murmured some apologies to the few guests and proceeded to the bedroom. So there won't be a honeymoon? Carla asked herself. Of course, why would there be a honeymoon? It's not a real marriage anyway, the voice in her head snapped. She agreed with it this time, it was true, Liam didn't bother to arrange a honeymoon for them because theirs wasn't a real marriage. She scoffed, how funny. All her life, she had dreamt of going to Paris with her spouse for their honeymoon only for her to be stuck in a contract marriage. Her life was indeed great, she thought ironically. From her peripheral vision, she saw Alex winked at Liam but he rolled his eyes and carried her to his bedroom, their bedroom now. He closed the door softly behind them and went straight to the king-sized bed. Her eyes widened at what was to happen and she quickly thought of what to do. Arriving at a quick solution, she closed her eyes and relaxed fully against him until he laid her gently on the bed. She was fully aware that he was searching her features and she held her breath, willing him to just leave her and walked away but she was not so lucky because Liam knew she was pretending to be asleep.
" I know you're awake, Bella " He said softly into her ear and she cursed, immediately releasing the breath she had been holding.
She winced and held her forehead " Ouch! I have this terrible headache... "
Liam cut her off " Are you doing this to avoid our first night together? We have to do this, you know that "
She felt ashamed with herself for trying to pull a silly trick just so she could avoid having sex with him. But she was scared, it would be her first time and she didn't know the first thing to do.
She coughed discreetly " Uh... I... "
Liam smirked " You don't have to worry about a thing, Bella, I'll make sure we both enjoy this, would make it the best one you've ever had "
Carla smiled to herself, he obviously thought she had done it before but he was in for the shock of his life. She was going to have sex with him either way so it would be better to get it over with now.
She smiled sexily " Really? " And she batted her eyelashes at him, all the while biting her lower lip.
" Yes baby " He whispered and leaned forward to kiss her. She gladly welcomed him and gave him access into her mouth, moaning. On instinct, her hands went to his chest and she caressed the soft hair. He groaned into her mouth but didn't break the kiss.
" Show me what you've got, baby " She murmured and pulled him closer, hooking her arms around his neck.
