Marie, with a red face, lowered her head and spoke in a voice as soft as a mosquito’s hum, “Um… the fish… it

fell out…”

Dennis followed her and crouched down, placing the fish back into the bucket.

Marie’s small hands were icy cold, and Dennis frowned. It was already late autumn, and the nights were

indeed very chilly.

Dennis picked up the fishing rod, walked over, took Marie’s hand, and said, “Let’s go, time to cook.”

Marie didn’t feel cold at all, hopping along with Dennis, she asked, “Are you cooking tonight? What are we having?”

Dennis shook his head, “I won’t cook, you do it.”

Marie frowned, “I don’t know how to do it.”

Dennis also looked troubled, “If you can’t, how will you be a loving and virtuous wife in the future?”

Marie chased after him, hitting him, “Who wants to be a loving and virtuous wife?”

The two people chased and ran all the way back to the villa, covering a distance that usually took more than 20 minutes in just 10 minutes. As they entered the living room, not only was Marie dumbfounded, but Dennis

was also stunned.

Who was that leisurely sitting on the couch eating potato chips, if not Andres?

Andres saw them return, looking somewhat wronged, “Why did you guys take so long to come back? I’m

starving to death!”

“So what?” Dennis raised his eyebrows at him, “You came here looking for food?”

Andres frowned, “I have no food to eat, I have to stay here this weekend!”

Marie was rendered speechless.

Dennis said, “Get out.”

Andres, with a sad face, cried out, “Dennis! Aren’t we good friends? Can’t you let me join you just once?”

Dennis put down the small bucket and said, “Don’t you feel like a third wheel, interfering with our date like this?”

Andres nodded, “Exactly! That’s why I did

come alone!”

Andres pointed in the direction of the kitchen, who

Gavin was walking out with a wine glass in hand, adorned with a slice of lemon. Seeing Marie and Dennis, he greeted them with a smile, “You’re back?”

Marie was rendered speechless.

Dennis was rendered speechless.

What was the feeling like when it seemed as if Marie and Dennis had come to visit?

Mainly, what was the deal with these two clowns?

Dennis let go of Marie’s hand and said, “You go change your clothes first.”

Marie nodded, leaving the two clowns to Dennis to handle. She had been hopping around by the lake all

afternoon, getting covered in grass and leaves, and feeling quite uncomfortable.

As soon as Marie went upstairs, Dennis looked at the two big men sitting on the couch, one holding a wine glass and the other hugging a bag of chips, leisurely watching him.

Dennis pinched the bridge of his nose and said helplessly. “What are you guys here for?”

Gavin put down his wine glass and shook his head helplessly, “Don’t ask me, ask Andres. He was crying and shouting that he couldn’t stay in New York anymore and had to come find you. I told him I wouldn’t come, but he insisted on dragging me along.”

Andres glared at Gavin, “You said you didn’t want to be dragged out to drink all day either! You wanted to find.

a quiet place for a couple of days!”

Dennis looked at the two of them helplessly and said, “So, you both just happened to choose my place. without planning or discussing it?”

Gavin and Andres nodded, “Yeah, didn’t we used to come here to relax before?”

Dennis was rendered speechless.

Andres was crunching on potato chips and said, “We asked Cullen, and he said you were here, so we both came. Who knew you were on a date with Marie! Besides, people usually go on trips or shopping when they’re on a date. Who would have thought you’d take Marie fishing…”

Dennis was rendered speechless.

So, it was his fault after all?

Gavin also nodded in agreement, ‘Since we’re already here, let’s spend the weekend together!”

Dennis was rendered speechless.

Could these two annoying friends just drop dead immediately?

Anyway, after much persuasion, Andres still refused to return to New York. He insisted that New York made

him sad and upset, causing him to lose his appetite and sleep. If this continued, he would soon die on the

spot.

Gavin, enjoying his leisure time, said, “Since we’re all here, why don’t we invite everyone to spend the weekend

together?”

So Gavin made a phone call, and Darwin came too.

Things really livened up, as Dennis and Marie’s world for two suddenly turned into a weekend gathering with good friends.

Marie thought Dennis would prepare a cozy dinner, but it suddenly turned into a family barbecue.

Marie wasn’t picky, and besides, she loved barbecue the most. On such a cold day, a steaming hot barbecue

meal was better than anything else.

Gavin and Andres didn’t come empty-handed either, they brought two bottles of red wine. It wasn’t the first

time that the group had a barbecue with red wine, so they were quite comfortable and enjoyed themselves.

Dennis was afraid that Marie would drink too much, so he kept pouring her juice. Marie didn’t insist on anything else and just sat quietly, drinking her juice.

Gavin looked at the two of them and asked, “You two have been together for quite some time now, you going to settle down?”

Marie was taken aback and lowered her head without speaking. Dennis served Marie some food and said, “Mind your own business.”

Gavin was rendered speechless.

Andres said, “I don’t care, I’ve already reserved the role of best man, and no one can take it away from me!”

Dennis glanced at him and said, “Are you sure you won’t get married before me?”

Andres suddenly frowned and said, “I wish I could! Who am I going to marry?”

Gavin took a sip of wine and said, “I don’t mean to criticize you, but what’s so great about Nataly? Just

because you grew up together? Can’t you get over it? I grew up with many girls like I, and I never acted like

you!”

Darwin chimed in from the side, “I’m with Gavin on this one. Nataly is a scheming woman. I don’t know what Andres sees in her. Anyway, if you marry her and bring her home, I won’t treat her as my sister-in-law! No! In

this family, it’s either her or me!”

Marie said, “Did Darwin have such a strong opinion about Nataly?”

Darwin smirked and said, “Think about it, if Andres married her, she would cause trouble every few days, and

then she would cry and complain to Andres with snot and tears. How could they live like that?”

Marie thought about how gentle and considerate Nataly was In front of Dennis and Andres, shuddered at the goosebumps on her body, and actually felt that there was some truth to what Darwin said.

According to Darwin’s temperament, If he lived under the same roof with Nataly, they would probably argue every day.

Andres lowered his head and muttered, “I didn’t say I had to marry her either…”

Gavin sat nearby and complained, “Iliana has both good looks and a great figure. Not to mention, at the very least, her thoughts aren’t as complicated as Nataly’s. Are you blind?”

Andres took a sip of wine and said, “What does her appearance and figure have to do with me? She’s not mine anyway…”

Marie was eating quietly when she suddenly said, “lliana’s childhood sweetheart is getting married.”

Andres was taken aback, his eyes lit up. “Really? That guy is getting married?”

Marie nodded, “Iliana said they’ll probably get married in a while.”

Gavin poked Andres and said, “Well, hurry up! You won’t have any competitors soon!”

Dennis scoffed, “They didn’t even consider him a competitor.”

Andres was rendered speechless.

A knife stabbed straight into the heart, that pain was so fast, accurate, and ruthless.

Marie glanced at Andres and said, “Anyway, that’s how it is. You would find out sooner or later, so I told you. But if you can’t let go of Nataly, don’t mess with Iliana.”

Andres kept his head down and didn’t speak. His mind was a mess, not being able to let go of Nataly and getting involved with Illana. He couldn’t understand any of it, so he didn’t want to see Nataly when she looked for him recently. As for Iliana, he simply couldn’t see her at all.

Darwin sat to the side and said, “Andres, stop causing trouble for other people’s little girl. Don’t marry Nataly either. You might as well just stay single for the rest of your life.”

Andres, angry, threw a sweet potato at him and said, “You’re the one who’s going to be alone forever! It’s as if

you have a girlfriend!”

Suddenly, Darwin seemed like a deflated ball, slumped in his chair, chewing his food one bite at a time, not saying a word.

Gavin turned to Darwin and poked him, asking, “Didn’t you say you had a good feeling with Sasha last time? Why hasn’t there been any news?”

Darwin muttered, “What’s the use of my feelings? All they can think about is that lifesaver!”

Speaking of this matter, Darwin got angry and threw the sweet potato at Andres again, saying, “Andres! What’s the deal with that Christopher from your company? Doesn’t he have work every day? He’s always bothering Sasha! Can you put him on the blacklist or not?”

Andres glared at the stupid Darwin and said, “Christopher is considered a B-list celebrity, he doesn’t steal or rob, why would I blacklist him for no reason?”

Darwin, with a sad face, said, “Then why was he hanging around Sasha all day? What does that have to do with me?”

Andres scoffed, “Look at your ambition! Do you think I can make Sasha see you just by blacklisting him? If that worked, I might as well have killed Dennis, so Nataly could see you too!”

Marie raised her hand and flung the water cup, spilling half a glass of juice all over Andres’ face and sweater. Andres was startled and looked at Marie.

Marie slowly put down the water cup, “My hand slipped.”
