“Dennis, there’s one more favor I wanted to ask from you,” Asher said solemnly. 

Dennis put down the chess piece and straightened himself. “Old Mr. Spence, if you need anything, just tell 

me.” 

Asher took out a photo and handed it to Dennis. “This is Marie’s mother, her name is Luisa.” 

Dennis looked at the photo in his hand. The woman in the photo was wearing a dress, appearing capable and elegant. She seemed nothing like a mad woman. 

Dennis gazed at the woman in the photo. His eyes were clear as he said, “Marie inherited her mother’s 

beauty.” 

Asher nodded and continued, “Yes, Marie resembles her mother a lot. Back then, her mother was just like her. She’s beautiful, intelligent, and clever. At that time, I valued Luisa a lot as my daughter-in-law, thinking that Mason would eventually come back to his sense. But who could have known that her life would be ruined like

Dennis studied the photo further. “Old Mr. Spence, are you asking me to investigate Marie’s mother?””

Asher took out another document and handed it to Dennis. “Dennis, this is a shares transfer agreement. I’m transferring ten percent of my shares to Marie. This way, if I’m no longer around one day, she won’t be bullied by Mia. However, if I were to give it to her now, she will definitely reject it. Keep It for me and give it to her st

After dinner, Dennis continued chatting with Asher for a while longer until Asher grew tired and went back to his room to rest. After settling Asher down, Marie accompanied Dennis to the entrance to bid him farewell. 

When they arrived at the car, Marie held onto Dennis and asked, “What did Grandpa talk to you about this afternoon?” 

Dennis smiled. “Why don’t you ask Old Mr. Spence yourself?” 

Marie frowned and explained, “He won’t tell me the truth if I ask him. Tell me, what did Grandpa say to you?” 

Marie was nervous and feared that Asher would constantly think about his limited time and went around making arrangements for the future after he has passed. She was both angry and sad. Asher never really considered taking care of his health properly. Instead, he always focused on ensuring everything was in order for when he was no longer around. 

She looked at Dennis anxiously, who only smiled at her. “Old Mr. Spence asked when I planned to get married to you.”

Dennis pulled her into his arms and embraced her. “What’s not serious about my words? As long as you’re willing to, we can get married any time.”

“What are you afraid of?” Dennis asked. 

“I’m afraid that Grandpa will collapse one day. He’s constantly making arrangements quietly with Edward for 

the future. I know he feels that his time is running out. He can’t even sleep peacefully. In fact, I really wanted

complete if he could witness everything,” she said while nestling into Dennis’ arms.
