The Beta's Regret (Eden and Eros) novel Chapter 265

My heart broke into tiny little pieces as I watched Ryker suspended in such an agonizing state.

How was this even possible, to treat a powerful hybrid in such a manner. I had always known King Pison could be evil, but I never imagined it would get to this level.

I felt tears slip down my face, and I quickly wiped it off with the back of my hand.

This was the peak of evil. They were nothing short of monsters. My resolve to take Pison out grew stronger.

An image of what Ryker had been before now flashed through my mind and I swallowed hard. Ryker who had always been full of life has been reduced to nothing but a mere shadow of himself.

His body was battered beyond recognition, the bruises on his skin were fresh and looked extremely painful. All hope that I could save my people from King Pison’s torture began to evaporate like smoke…

King Pison and his men were past being wicked. They were demons. It would be no surprise if Hades himself had possessed King Pison, considering the kind of things he was doing.

It was clear that King Pison derived pleasure from people’s pain, and it was sickening. My skin crawled in disgust.

I knew I had to do something, anything to save Ryker, Adonis and others.

I studied the iron pipes that were attached to Ryker, it looked like they were connected to a source. I followed the trail of iron pipes that snaked through the darkened corridors of the dungeon.

Finally, I saw a large Iron box where all the iron pipes were connected to.

The source.

I took a step closer, and my stomach immediately churned in disgust.

Wolfsbane.

My eyes widened. That was what King Pison was putting into Ryker?

My eyes widened, the acidic smell of the poison wafted through my nose and I scrunch my nose. They were doing their best to kill Ryker in the most evil way possible.

For what reason?

I stayed still, rooted to the ground.

I suddenly snapped out of it when I heard faint sounds coming from the entrance.

“We need to hide.” Tiara said quickly. “We need to move away from here. Someone is coming.” She said,

I looked around, looking for a place I could hide so that they wouldn't see me easily. There was none, except for the space beside the box of wolfsbane.

I didn't think much about it, and I dived into the shadows at the same time the rogue entered the dungeon. I stayed glued to the world and held my breath, tightening my coat around Lily and I to lessen the acidic smell of the wolfsbane.

The rogue who perceived the Crowberries entered, his face etched into a tight frown, his gaze fixed forward. His lips moved rapidly on a low grumble.
