Wild Child POV.

I watch and wait until Sophie is asleep. The combination of the pain medication and her crying has sent her to sleep. I stand from my place next to her bed. I lean over her and plant a gentle, tender kiss on her forehead. I fill find who did this to her and they will fucking pay.

I leave the room and see doc who is writing on a chart as I walk towards him.

“Doc, can we get her moved to a private room? Don’t worry about the cost I will pay for all her treatment. I will send two of my brothers to stand guard at her door. She deserves better than what happened to her.” I tell him and he sighs and rubs his forehead.

“I have seen cases like this before and no matter how many times I see it, it is still heart breaking. Whoever did this to her, they are worse than animals. Domestic violence is no joke.” Doc says, and I nod my head. Because seeing her like that broke me.

“Soph never told me about a boyfriend. So I’m not sure.” I say to him and he shakes his head with a sigh.

“Domestic violence isn’t just from a partner. It could be from a family member. Unfortunately, we will have to wait until she is ready to talk about it. I would also suggest her going to therapy. Talking sometimes helps. But right now, I have placed her on the watch list.” I furrow my eyebrows at him, the watch list.

“Let’s pretend I don’t speak medical. What is the watch list?” I’m learning something new everyday so I can be the best president there ever was.

“The suicide watch list. From my experience. Cases like this. The victim hasn’t just experienced this kind of brutality once. But don’t worry Harry. She is in excellent hands. I know I shouldn’t say this to you. But I hope you find who did this to her and unleash hell. She is one strong and brave woman.” He pats my shoulder before walking back to the ward, and I have a lot to think about.

I need to find out all I can about Sophie. There is one person who would have that information. All I need is her full name and date of birth. I will have Tank run a background check on her. Because whoever did this to my woman will pay.

My woman, I like the sound of that. I smile to myself like an idiot as I walk out of the hospital and head towards my bike. I straddle it and start her up before riding back to the clubhouse.

The image of Sophie’s battered and bruised face is still in my head as I rev the throttle and gain speed. I need fucking answers. I know Harmony keeps her employee records in the office at the clubhouse.

I will need them to be able to find out all I can about Sophie, but would Sophie be pissed if she ever found out I went behind her back? Yes, she would. Even if it is to protect her. Then again, with us being an MC, we don’t have to vet our members, but we do.

But Harmony, like us, always does. So surely she would have told Sophie this before Sophie accepted the job, right?

Ahhh, fuck it! I’m doing this to help her. I know she will run. She already told me she would leave, but I’m not going to let that happen. No way in hell is Sophie walking away from me.

I pull up into the compound parking lot and shut the bike off, kick the stand down, and climb off. As I unclip my helmet, I walk up the steps into the clubhouse. It’s so quiet because everyone is at the hospital waiting to see baby Faith.

Awww, my beautiful little niece. I want that with Sophie. I don’t care how strange it sounds. I want Sophie and whatever demons she is running from. We will face them together. I won’t let her do this alone. It is not in my nature to do that.

I walk into the office and close the door behind me before walking to the cabinet that Harmony keeps all her invoices and personnel files.

I open it and scan through the sections and smile at how neat and in order everything is. Harmony is a neat freak always has been. Whereas me yeah, not so much. I find the files I am looking for.

In a folder is Sophie’s file. I lift it out and close the cabinet as I take a seat in my chair behind the desk. I open the file and grab a clean sheet of paper and pen.

Name: Sophie Corrine Johnson.

DOB: August 10th 2001.
