Angel POV.
It has been a month since we lifted the lockdown. Everyone was nervous but excited to be able to leave. We have to make it known that we believe the threat is gone, considering Crusher is now dead. That will only infuriate the rest of his damn crew.
I’m checking my gun as I plan on going out today to get back to normal. But I’m not stupid. I know danger will be lurking in the murky depths. So I have to keep my wits about me when outside.
“Where are you going?” Ryder asks from behind me and I smile as I turn to look at him at the same time I put my gun down.
“To the store. Then I’m thinking of doing some clothe shopping and maybe look at teeny-tiny baby clothes. Wanna come with?” I say to him as I wrap my arms around the back of his neck and move up to my tiptoes and kiss him.
“As if I’d let you go on your damn own. So yes, I’m coming with you, but first we have an appointment. Doc managed to get us an appointment at the hospital to check on peanut.” Peanut? I roll my eyes into the back of my head and swat his chest playfully, and he chuckles.
“Peanut? So original. Ok, what time is the appointment?” I ask him and he smiles at me as he bands his arms around my lower back, pulling me closer to him.
“In an hour, so we need to get going. Rebel is going to have a playdate with my parents and yours.” My stomach flips, thinking of Rebel being without us, even if it is only for a few hours. I know in my logical brain they won’t let anything happen to her, but the mommy bear in me wants her child with her everywhere I go. Always in line of sight and in reach.
“Hey, stop that. She will be safe and you know it. Come on, we will drop her off on the way.” He says, kissing me gently and I sigh, knowing I’m being too overprotective. I finish getting ready as I slip on my jeans and pink vest top. Slipping on my converse. My long blonde hair is pulled up in a messy bun on top of my head.
I leave the bedroom, checking my gun once more, checking I have one bullet in the chamber. I walk with my boy in front of me. Which is normal for us. He is usually around Rebel, but he has become more protective of me and I know it is because he can sense I am pregnant.
We enter the main room and I smile at the club girls who are busy cleaning and some are stocking the bar. Rebel is also helping to wipe the tables down. Coral is with her, helping her. I walk over and kiss them both on their cheeks and rub Coral’s bump.
“I’m sorry to pull away your little helper, but Rebel is going to see her grandparents now.” I say and Rebel squeals hugs Coral before she hugs the other club girls and they all smile down at her as she runs to me but stops looking at my stomach.
“What’s wrong, princess?” I ask her and she looks at me, confused.
“I don’t want to hurt her.” She says, pointing at my stomach, and I chuckle at her as I scoop her up and kiss her all over her little face.
“You won’t hurt her, she will be ok. So I take it you want to have a baby sister?” I ask her and she nods her head and I tilt my head to the side.
“Don’t you want a brother?” I ask her and she makes a face like I’ve just insulted her.
“No, too many boys.” She says, and I chuckle as the other women laugh, shaking their heads at her antics.
“Can’t argue with that now, can I? I’m sure whatever the baby is, you will love them unconditionally.” She looks at me frowning, oh shoot big word, ok. “I mean you would love them lots and lots.” I say and she narrows her eyes at me and I become nervous. Hell, we are only going to confirm and see how far along I am.
“She will be a girl, I know this,” she says, pouting and I shake my head with a sigh as I kiss her and place her on her feet.
“Ok missy, whatever you say. Now come on, we need to find daddy and go to nana and pop-pops. Nonna and nonno will also be there. So you will have lots of fun.” I say to her and she smiles really big her little white teeth on full display. If I didn’t know my little girl, that smile means trouble.
“Uncy Nate and Nico too?” I nod my head and she smirks. Oh, hell no. She is going to be sooo much trouble the older she gets. I can see it now.
“Bye girls, Coral, make sure you aren’t doing too much OK,” I say to her and she waves me off.
