Silas forced a smile. As much as he was a fan of beautiful women, the nightlife scene was not his type. Eventually, he had to concoct an excuse to make his exit.
Half an hour later, Freya focused on her thesis work at Kieran's place. She donned black-rimmed glasses and began scouring the internet for resources.
Having been out of school for several months, she had much to catch up on. Even though she had three years of real-life experience to build on, she knew it wasn't smart to just ignore her studies. She decided not to repeat her past mistakes, dropping out for a man, thinking she had found her happiness ever after.
How foolish that had been.
As Freya typed away on her computer, the door suddenly swung open.
The smell of alcohol hit her like a wave, prompting her to shut her laptop immediately.
Kieran noticed the action and frowned, asking, "What are you doing?"
"What I'm doing has nothing to do with you, Mr. Sutton," Freya responded coldly. "This is my room. Isn't it inappropriate to barge in like this, Mr. Sutton?"
"This is my house. I can go wherever I please." Suddenly, Kieran moved toward Freya.
Catching the scent of alcohol on him, Freya frowned deeply. "Kieran! What are you doing?"
