The Bride Who Said No: Escaping the Shadows of Yesterday novel Chapter 193

Freya had always hoped to get closer to him, but she was over it. Sharing a living space with Kieran made her inwardly roll her eyes. For heaven’s sake, she would never want to share a room with this arrogant guy!

Forcing a smile, Freya said, “Living together unmarried could stir up gossip. Besides, there's only one bed. How would we manage?”

Misinterpreting her hesitation as a subtle hint, Kieran replied leisurely, “We're engaged. There's nothing improper about sharing a bed. My bed’s big enough for three if you're suggesting...”

“Mr. Sutton, if you're trying to take responsibility for what happened earlier today, there's no need. I understand you got caught up in the moment. It was a kiss. I didn’t take it to heart.”

Kieran couldn't believe his ears. “You... you didn’t take it to heart?”

Freya shot back, “No way. We're living in the 21st century. A kiss isn't some crazy, forbidden thing. It's not like it's the end of the world for me.”

Freya's remarks amused Kieran. So, he was the only one fussing over it?

“You’re right. I thought you, Ms. Dawson, held your virtue above all else. It seems I was worried over nothing. Forget everything I said earlier.”

Feeling tight in his chest, Kieran turned and headed upstairs. However, he quickly realized he had returned to clarify their relationship, prompting him to return downstairs.

“Freya, remember we're engaged. You will be the future Mrs. Sutton of the Sutton family. Don't think you can escape from me. I’ll find a way to bring you back even if you run!”

With that, Kieran left the Sutton Mansion without looking back.

Watching his retreating figure, Freya frowned. 'What a weirdo he is!'

“Ms. Dawson, your room is ready. However, you'll have to stay in your original room for the time being due to the upcoming renovations,” Jarrett informed her, sweating at the sight of his boss being driven to frustration.
