‘It might not be true?’ Eloise had heard the rumors as clear as day.
Not only had Kieran locked lips with Freya in a bold move, but the Sutton family had started picking out new furniture for her.
Just thinking about it made Eloise march straight toward Kieran's office.
She barely made it to the door when Jarrett intercepted her. “Ms. Harwood, Mr. Sutton is in a meeting. It's not a good time now.”
But before Jarrett could finish, Eloise had barged into Kieran’s office. Inside, Kieran was wearing headphones and deeply engaged in a call with an international client.
Seeing Eloise storm in, Kieran’s brows furrowed slightly.
Kieran ended the call quickly with a short sentence. “Ellie, I’m still in the middle of work.”
Eloise had never been this impulsive.
Kieran set aside his headphones, and looking down, Eloise mumbled, “I... I didn’t mean to.”
Kieran glanced at her. “What’s up?”
“I came to pick you up from work.” Eloise squeezed out a smile, though it was far from genuine.
Oblivious to Eloise's distress, Kieran said, “I’ve got plans tonight and can’t have dinner with you. I’ll arrange for the driver to take you home. It’s not safe out there this late.”
Kieran was as considerate as ever. Yet, Eloise felt him drifting further away.
After a moment's hesitation, she asked with a shaky voice, “Kieran, is Ms. Dawson moving in with you?”
Kieran’s eyes turned cold for a moment at that. “Who told you that?”
