When Jarrett relayed the news, Kieran couldn’t believe it. Had something like that happened? Kieran couldn't recall a thing.
He hadn't paid much attention to Freya in the past, so he wouldn't bother with anything she did for him.
Even as these words came out of Jarrett's mouth, Kieran found it hard to believe that he had been so harsh to Freya before and had gone to such extremes.
"Mr. Sutton, it's only natural for Ms. Dawson to be upset."
No one wants the person they're into to trash the hard work they put in. And Freya was no different.
After all, even Jarrett knew Freya skipped dinner, yet her fiancé had no clue.
Frowning, Kieran suddenly lost his appetite.
Seeing Kieran stand up, Jarrett was about to follow when Kieran said, "Let's postpone tonight's work. You can go ahead."
"Yes, Mr. Sutton," Jarrett responded.
Kieran went upstairs. There, he found Freya in the room, casually directing the renovation team and taking matters into her own hands by donning a cap and joining in. She didn't look anything like a pampered heiress. Not the least bit demure or reserved.
Freya turned and saw Kieran at the door, and her brows furrowed slightly, clearly displeased.
‘What is this nuisance doing here again?’
"Mr. Sutton, it's messy here. Maybe you should leave. We'll try to keep the noise down." The lead contractor didn't want Kieran to blow his top and send them packing.
After all, with Kieran's status, angering him could mean the end of their business.
Freya continued painting as if Kieran wasn't there.
But surprisingly, Kieran stepped into the room.
Freya's paint ended up splattering all over Kieran’s fancy handmade shoes, but he didn't give a hoot.
