"She got into a scuffle with a classmate and hurt her hand, so she had to swing by the hospital..."
The principal's words were vague, and with a probing tone, he said, "Mr. Sutton, taking this much time off isn't good. School is a place for learning. Perhaps you might consider..."
The principal was dead set on getting into Kieran's good graces. After all, getting Kieran to call off an engagement openly meant Freya must have crossed him.
It was clear to anyone in their circle, and as the principal, he naturally wanted to show where his allegiances lay. He'd have Freya expelled in a heartbeat if Kieran gave the word!
"Your student gets injured, and you don't think to look into it?" There was a hint of chill in Kieran's voice.
The principal was shocked, not understanding why Kieran was upset. After all, Freya had pissed Kieran, and it's only natural for everyone to turn on her, right?
But outwardly, the principal quickly agreed, saying, "Indeed, Mr. Sutton, you're right..."
Kieran took a deep breath and asked, "Which hospital is Freya at?"
The principal said, "Ms. Dawson's at Crescent Medical Center. Our staff took her there!"
Hearing she was at Crescent Medical Center, Kieran signaled Jarrett to end the call.
Jarrett couldn't help asking, "Mr. Sutton, are you planning to visit the hospital?"
Having worked for Kieran for so long, Jarrett had never seen him show this much concern for any woman. Usually, Kieran would just cut ties. So why did he seem so interested in seeing Freya now?
