The Bride Who Said No: Escaping the Shadows of Yesterday novel Chapter 257

"She’s happy and started to pack her bags?" The question nearly had Kieran choke on his incredulity. Was this woman that eager to leave the Sutton Mansion?

"Mr. Sutton... are you alright?" Observing Kieran's expression, Nancy couldn't help but feel a bit intimidated. Kieran had been riding a rollercoaster of emotions, swinging from joy to irritation without warning.

"I'm fine!" Kieran's response was icy. "If Freya loves packing, let her haul her bags downstairs! No need to lend her a hand anymore!"

With that, Kieran stormed back to his room, leaving Nancy bewildered.

Was Kieran mad at himself or at Ms. Dawson?

In no time, Freya had stuffed the project contract into the deepest recesses of her suitcase. Standing it upright, she heard Nancy's knock. "Ms. Dawson."

"Come in." Freya had finished packing.

Noticing Nancy's hesitation at the door, Freya said, "My leg's been giving me trouble. Could you help me take this suitcase downstairs?"

"Um... Mr. Sutton ordered that you should carry your luggage downstairs. He insisted we not get involved."

"What's gotten into him?" Freya couldn't help but blurt out.

Kieran was the one wanting her gone, and refusing help due to her injury was also his doing.

Was he trying to mess with her?

At a loss for words, Nancy couldn't even begin to guess what Kieran was thinking.
