Chapter 1116
When she brought the medical kit over, she saw Warren still picking up the broken glass fragments that fell on the floor.
“Why are you picking them up? Stop it!” she said quickly.

“Sorry, I messed up your place… I’ll clean it up,” he said.
“Stop it. I’ll do it later!” Amelia took away the glass fragments he had picked up and then looked at his hands. Fortunately, there were no glass fragments stuck in the skin. It was relatively simple to deal with it this
way.
She hurriedly took the cotton and gauze and stopped his hands from bleeding. “Tell me if it hurts,” she said.
However, while she tried to stop the bleeding, he remained silent as if he felt no pain.
After she had taken care of the wound on his hands, she looked up and met his eyes.
Before Amelia could avert her eyes, Warren said, “If I hadn’t forced you to abort the child that day, would things have been better between us? Would it be possible for us… to go back to how we used to be? Maybe… Maybe you would fall in love with me again?”
That question had lingered in his mind for many days, but he did not have the courage to ask it until then.
Amelia stiffened slightly and pursed her red lips. “Is it still necessary for you to ask these questions now?”
“What if I say it’s necessary?” Even if he were dying soon, he wanted to know the answer.
He looked at her with deep sadness in his eyes.
She only felt that her throat was unusually dry. Then, she heard her own voice saying, “At that time, I thought I could slowly believe you and some of the things you said back then, but after you got someone to forcefully pin me onto the operating table, the little trust I had just established in you was completely shattered.”
His throat suddenly let out a low, painful roar.

Once, he had told her that he hoped she could trust him again one day and believe he truly loved her. However, in the end, he personally destroyed the little trust he had finally won.
“It’s my fault… It’s all my fault,” Warren murmured.
At that moment, there was a quiet knock on the door. Amelia opened the door, and it was Warren’s driver.
Amelia said to the driver, “His hand is injured. I’ve bandaged it, but you’d better take him to the hospital.”
“Yes, yes. I’ll take Mr. York to the hospital right away,” the driver answered quickly.
Warren stood up and heard Amelia say, “Warren, don’t come here like this again. All I want is a peaceful life.”
He paused unconsciously. After a while, he murmured, “Okay…”
After Warren left, Amelia looked at the glass fragments and blood stains on the floor. She quickly took a broom to sweep up the glass fragments and then a mop to clean up the blood stains.
Fortunately, there was not much noise, and Matilda and Aiden were not awakened.
After she had cleaned everything, Amelia realized that her hands were still stained with blood. She had not noticed it before.
It was Warren’s blood. Her hands must have been stained when she bandaged him before.
The skin, stained with blood, suddenly became a little hot. Amelia bit her lips slightly and quickly turned on the tap to wash her hands.
The blood on her hand disappeared in a short time, but the burning sensation seemed to remain on it.
His pale face and weak appearance kept flashing in her mind.
Amelia wondered if he was only tired, as she had never seen him like that before. She had even felt his hands were extremely cold when she had bandaged his wounds earlier.
Inexplicably, she felt uneasy in her heart.
“Goodness gracious, stop thinking about it,” she thought.

Amelia shook her head and shrugged off everything about Warren in her mind. She and Warren were two different types of people from the beginning. Even if she were anxious for a while, it would eventually pass.
The next day, Matilda found that a glass was missing. When she asked about it, Amelia said awkwardly, “Last night, I got up to drink water and accidentally broke it.”
“Are you hurt?” Matilda asked worriedly.
“No.” Amelia said.
“Speaking of which, people have been discussing whether you and Warren are quarreling or giving each other the silent treatment these days. It was said that Warren’s car had parked nearby several times while he looked toward the concession stand from inside the car. Well… What happened between you and him?” Matilda asked.
“What else can happen between me and him? It’s just about my pregnancy.” Amelia deliberately added lightly, “I’ve told Warren not to come here often in the future to avoid gossip among the neighbors. Anyway, from now on, I’ll tell everyone that he is from Lofbury and works there and that I still live here because I’m pregnant and need you to take care of me.”
“Well, that’s all we can do.” Matilda sighed and said, “Warren still has deep feelings for you now. If your father hadn’t treated the York family like that back then, wouldn’t you and him have been married and living together happily now?”
