He had just witnessed her walking into the office with a bouquet of flowers. She had set them down, only to pick them up again moments later.
"..."
"Felicity, I can buy you anything you want. Just forget about his gift."
The moment a man goes from being a suitor to a boyfriend, whether it's a trial period or official, it becomes all too difficult to contain the green-eyed monster.
After all, no man likes the thought of other guys setting their sights on his girl.
"Can you and Calvin both stop acting crazy?"
She was already irritated and didn't want to deal with any of it.
So, she shoved the bouquet of roses into Miles's arms, "You seem so fascinated by them, you must like them too. Here, they're yours now."
"..."
"And remember, I agreed to a month, but don't forget the conditions you promised in exchange."
Her hot-and-cold attitude would confuse even the most experienced player, let alone Miles, who was clearly a novice.
What was happening now...
Last night, Felicity was all sweet and cozy, calling him Langston at every chance. Today, she was setting rules as if they were negotiating a contract.
Could it be... his jealousy over Calvin upset her?
...
There are some things that, out of sheer curiosity, you're tempted to try. But once you do, you're left regretting just how strong that curiosity was.
Take Aurora at this moment; she couldn't even bring herself to look at Craig. A mere glance his way and her mind replayed that scene from earlier!
The awkwardness was off the charts.
"Let's eat."
Fortunately, Craig acted as if nothing had happened.
The only difference was a change of clothes.
"Oh... sure."
Craig, with his eyebrows slightly furrowed and still carrying the faint scent of shower gel, called out, "Aurora."
"Hmm?"
He stopped and turned around.
"I... I'm sorry about today! I wasn't trying to lead you on, it just... hurt."
Craig smiled, his lips curving slightly, and he gently tapped her forehead.
"So, no more teasing, about staying over at night?"
Aurora's cheeks flushed, and she looked down, "Maybe after some more mental preparation."
"Tsk." He laughed in a lazy tone, "I don't believe you. Let's talk about marriage later."
"You've met my parents, so when do we set the date?"
Craig didn't respond immediately. His dark eyes fixed on her for a long moment before he finally said, "When you're mentally prepared."
"..."
"I don't want to end up taking another cold shower on our wedding night."
