Everyone thought that when Craig married Aurora, she'd surely ride on the coattails of the Lopez family name and give him a hard time.
Even Magnolia thought so.
But the truth was, she had to keep even her unhappiness and discontent under wraps!
Today, perhaps spurred by pregnancy hormones, Aurora couldn't hold back, which led her to speak out.
Craig shifted uncomfortably, "I...”
"Let it go, I'll stop crying. My parents will worry if they see me like this."
She pulled on Craig's shirt, wiped her tears, and then slipped her hand into his jeans pocket, fishing out a piece of toffee.
“Don’t mention it, alright?”
Craig nodded dumbly, “Yeah.”
Aurora took a deep breath, savoring the candy as if its sweetness could negate the bitterness in her heart.
She still didn't want to fight with him.
She didn't want their relationship to fracture.
She chose to keep these grievances to herself.
...
Everett and Dorothy came out hand in hand.
Even at their age, their affection for each other was as strong as ever.
Seeing their daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy quickly waved and tried to run over.
But Everett didn't let go, and she ended up back in his arms.
"The ground's slippery, don't run."
He said warmly, like he was talking to a child, gently tapping her forehead, "No rush to see them, who'll take care of you if you fall?"
Dorothy smiled, "You, of course! I'd like someone else to, but you wouldn't agree."
"You and your brother were even more of a handful!"
Carrying one versus two definitely made a difference!
Just as one would settle down, the other would start up.
Aurora chuckled, "Then it must've been my brother causing the trouble. I was definitely quiet!"
Dorothy gently touched her daughter's face, "You've lost weight."
Then, she turned to Craig, standing by, "Craig, dear, Abigail is in a crucial stage of her pregnancy. I have a favor to ask, I hope you can put aside some unnecessary work during this time to be with her more!"
Craig was taken aback, quickly nodding, "I understand, Mom."
"Women at this time are especially fragile and sensitive! While making money is important, Abigail won't go through this many times in her life. Even though her dad and I are always with her, having you, her husband, by her side will reassure and comfort her."
"Yeah, I get it."
Suddenly, Everett, who had been quiet, spoke up, "Abigail, have you been crying?"
