Aurora had already set some ground rules with the nanny: absolutely no taking Elijah to deserted areas, period.
She was so swamped with stuff at the art studio most days, she couldn’t really spend as much time with her son as she’d like. So, she figured the best thing she could do was try to head off any potentially dangerous situations before they even started.
“Okay, good! If you ever feel like it’s too much to handle Elijah on your own, I can always hire a security guard to help out,” Aurora offered.
“That won’t be necessary right now. But if I do need help, I’ll let you know,” the nanny replied.
Aurora nodded, though her gaze drifted out the window to the big house across the street that was still under renovation.
She thought to herself that when the new neighbors finally moved in, she should probably be the first to go over and say hi.
After all, as the old saying goes, “Good fences make good neighbors.” Aurora always believed it was important to have a good relationship with the folks next door.
…
Felicity couldn’t believe it—she’d been stuck in bed for days! What she’d thought was just a little stomach bug had turned into a dizzy, can’t-get-up mess.
“Still not feeling better?” Miles asked, worry lining his face. “Felicity, maybe we should go back to the hospital.”
It’s not like Miles could concentrate on work anyway. He’d been sneaking out at dawn, signing whatever documents absolutely needed his attention at the office, then hurrying straight back to her side.
“But I don’t want to go to the hospital…” Felicity mumbled, her voice small.
Honestly, when Felicity was sick, she turned into a total kid again. If you said the wrong thing, she’d get all teary-eyed, blinking up at you with a trembling chin.
Miles pulled her gently into a hug, rubbing her back. “Okay, okay, we don’t have to go. How about I get the doctor to come here, just to take some blood and run some tests? Would that be alright?”
“I don’t want to get poked. Needles hurt…” she protested, pouting.

I don't agree with not letting him in. That just seems cruel and besides wasn't the whole point of getting pregnant again was for him to experience and travel the journey of pregnancy with her?...
Sometimes Karen can be such a drama queen and immature....
