Heather had a knack for drama, and it might just be her way of dodging the bullet.
Everett wasn't buying it, though.
To be fair, as a tycoon who could move mountains in the business world, sharp wits were a necessity. He was on his toes around anyone and everyone, except Dorothy.
"Man, I was such a fool back in the day," Jeffrey groaned, wishing he could time-travel and slap some sense into his younger self. "Heather had me believing you were only into Dorothy because you had a spat with her, and because she looked like Heather! I believed her."
And honestly, they indeed resemble each other!
The logic seemed sound.
Dorothy's body stiffened at the mention. The thought of her blood ties with Heather made her feel nauseous.
"I need some air," she muttered, not wanting her discomfort to be noticed, especially by Everett.
Karen, finding the atmosphere stifling, chimed in, "I'll join you!"
Everett watched Dorothy's hurried departure with a slight frown. "She doesn't look too hot. Have a doc check her out, will you?"
"Don't worry, with Karen by her side, Dorothy's in good hands. Jonathan's arranging for a doc to look at her leg tomorrow. Looks like after all this mess, your folks are warming up to her."
Jeffrey was stunned to see Dorothy in the private hospital.
Knowing Everett's parents, he'd figured they'd turn up their noses at Dorothy's background. Yet here she was, caring for Everett, with them giving her space and everything.

The readers' comments on the novel: The CEO's Hidden Love: Midnight Temptations and Deep Desires
Sometimes Karen can be such a drama queen and immature....
For some reason I am now feeling suspicious about Kevin's new girlfriend....
I really hope this Perdita person is not a new villain....
I too echoed the sentiments of pppplllleeeaaaassssseeeeee bring this drama to an end. I beg of you!...
Really please finish this book and upload the full story so it can end. It's been drugout for so long!...
The intimate scenes in this story or uncomfortable to read. They either come off as being forced, painful, or simply not enjoyable....
Okay I left a long while ago and came back. Looks like it's been updated but still not done lol. I'll maybe wait 6 months before coming back and it'll probably still be going on. It's like a soap opera instead of a novel...
Kenneth is confirming something I've been thinking about him for several hundred chapters ago and that is he is a future murder suicide perpetrator. And after reading chapter 1275 yeah it's just brought the thought back....
How could Jeffrey throw the knife down at the scene of the crime with both their fingerprints on there?...
Again no update, so is this where it ends? Or post the whole book. Your dragging this out...
