Chapter 168
She sensed something was amiss and asked, “Arno, have you finished shooting?”
“No, there’s a lack of a chemistry between Avery and Sophie, so I asked him to work on it a bit more.”
As Arnold explained, he took a glance at Avery by the lake. “Has he ever been in love before?”
Aurelia was silent for a moment before quietly answering, “He had a girlfriend in college. But she broke up with him when he got sick.”
Could it be that seeing the lake brought back his memories and made him sad?
She stood up. “I’ll go check on him.”
Arnold shrugged. “Maybe it’s better if I go. Men can communicate with each other more easily.”
When he reached the lakeside, Avery had his head down, sighing.
“We’re shooting a romantic commercial about destined love and happy unions, and here you’re sighing away!” He said with a teasing tone.
“Sorry.” Avery scratched his head. It was hard for him to get into the role when thinking about Sophie as his sister’s romantic rival.
Arnold put an arm around his shoulder. “Did you… think about your ex–girlfriend?”

It wasn’t him who went through heartbreak, it was his sister.
Avery kicked at a pebble, and hesitated for a long time before whispering, “Arno, are you dating Sophie?”
Arnold was shocked. “Who told you that?”
“Someone told my sister.” Avery gave the pebble a hard kick into the lake.
Arnold chuckled. “So you’re upset over this?”
Avery lowered his gaze, looking gloomy. “I know it’s your personal life, and I shouldn’t meddle, but…” He bit his lip, swallowing the rest of his words.
Arnold turned his gaze towards Aurelia in the distance, with a subtle and meaningful expression.
“Don’t pay attention to those rumors, they’re all baseless. I’ve already found the best girl for me. Why would I look at anyone else?”
Avery understood his meaning and immediately felt relieved. “Are you thinking of starting as friends and taking it one step at a time? My sister is indeed a slow to warm up in matters of the heart. Even if she likes someone, she won’t show it and needs to be gradually warmed up. And she’s quick to withdraw, otherwise, she wouldn’t have been single for so long. You have to explain things to her clearly, so she doesn’t misunderstand.”
“I understand.” Arnold nodded, his gaze slightly deepening as if shrouded in a thick fog.
After a short break, the shooting resumed.
This time, Avery quickly got into role and the shoot went smoothly.
During a makeup touch–up, Arnold invited Aurelia for a walk by the lake.
I heard someone was spreading rumors about Sophie and me in front of you,” he said in a casual tone, as if
