Arnold held William into his arms, standing up. “Hungry, boy? How about some grub?” 

“Yep.” William nodded, wrapping his small arms around Arnold’s neck, as if saying to Lisa, This is my dad, you can’t take him away!‘ 

Ignoring Lisa, Arnold took William and left. 

Lisa felt like her heart was being shredded. 

Some women foolishly believe that having a child can secure a man’s heart. If Lisa hadn’t cheated, Arnold might not have despised her so much and they could have maintained a cordial facade. 

After lunch, the Stirling brothers left the island for the Stirling Mansion. 

On New Year’s Day, there was a family dinner. 

Melissa, the fourth daughter of the Stirling family, had returned from abroad. 

Leopold had four elder sisters, all living away from Elysium, only returning home for holidays. 

Melissa was three years older than Leopold and was not yet married. 

This was the first time Aurelia had met Melissa. She greeted Melissa politely, “Pleasure to meet you, Melissa!”

She settled onto a couch, taking a sip of her coffee before saying, “Leopold, the day after tomorrow is Megan’s remembrance day. I’ve arranged with Evelyn to pay our respects.” 

This was a calculated move, to put Aurelia in her place. 

Aurelia’s heart wavered. Was Megan’s sudden appearance a reminder of her 

remembrance day? A call for Leopold to pay his respects? 

However, Leopold didn’t even believe that there were ghosts in this world. 

Leopold’s expression deepened slightly. He reached out an arm, pulling Aurelia close to his side. 

“Melissa, you and Evelyn can go. I won’t be joining,” he said. 

Melissa smirked, “Oh, did someone tell you not to go?” 

Aurelia understood that ‘someone‘ referred to her.

In all honesty, Aurelia didn’t want to fight a ghost, and she also wanted to pay her respect to Megan so she wouldn’t always run out and scare her. 

She placed a hand on Leopold’s shoulder, “If you do go, pay some respects to Megan for me as well.” 

Leopold buried his face in his hand, speechless. 

“I’ll be out of town the day after tomorrow.” 

“Oh.” Aurelia gave a sheepish smile, turning to Melissa, “Could you do me a favor and pay some respects to Megan for me? Megan was a friend of Leopold’s, which makes her my friend. Paying respects is only right.” 

Melissa was taken aback, suspecting that Aurelia was sarcastically making her point. It was quite irritating. 

This woman was quite cunning. No wonder Leopold and Arnold were both fooled by her.
