Chapter 56 Acquaintances Aren’t Necessarily Friends, They Might Be Enemies
As Adrian mentioned this, he slightly furrowed his brow. “She was involved in this case halfway through and suddenly returned to the country. The case was handed over to other lawyers, and I was just the doctor responsible for rescue at the time, providing a death certificate. This case had nothing to do with me, and I was also preparing to return to the country. The case probably hasn’t been adjudicated yet.”
Daphne couldn’t help but quip. “The efficiency abroad is as low as always. Tsk tsk.”
Adrian chuckled. “I have a very strong impression of that lawyer, Ms. Jane.”
“Why’s that?”
“It involves a girl’s private life; I respect her privacy rights, so I won’t say for now.”
Daphne pursed her lips. “That surely doesn’t sound good.”
Adrian smiled but didn’t say anything, essentially confirming it.
After a while, a waiter hurried over. “Hello.”
Daphne asked, “Is the pineapple rice out again? I knew it; your pineapple rice sells out so quickly. It’s fine. If it’s unavailable, just cancel the order.
The waiter shook his head. “The pineapple rice has already been ordered for you, but you have two friends who came over and said they want to share a table with you.”
“My friends?”
“Yes, that’s what they said.”
Daphne looked at Adrian. “Did you invite anyone else?”
Adrian slightly furrowed his brow and shook his head. “No.”
“Neither did I.” Daphne confirmed with the waiter again. “Are you sure they’re my friends? Did they mention my name?”
The waiter said, “They were just talking to you at the door. Oh, here they come.”
The waiter politely gestured, bending slightly. From lysander’s perspective, she could see Lysanne’s protruding belly and Josiah’s worried expression.
Daphne immediately refused. “They’re not my friends. I don’t know them.”
The waiter was bewildered. “Huh? Aren’t they your friends?”
“Of course, we’re friends.” Lysanne supported her belly and walked over with a smile. She said to the

Daphne sneered, “Maybe we were arguing?”
“Regardless, we know each other.”
“Acquaintances aren’t necessarily friends; they might be enemies.”
Lysanne couldn’t maintain her smile. “Miss Everhart, I’m pregnant. There’s no need for you to be so hostile.”
“It’s not my child you’re carrying; it’s not my concern Daphne rolled her eyes and then pointed at her. saying to the waiter, “Get her out of here; we’re not friends.”
After the commotion outside just now, the waiter didn’t dare provoke this tough pregnant woman again.
He could only look helpless.

Update pls~...
Why no update ???...
Chapters 692 693 ans 694 are impossible to read. Not sure if there was an issue with translation.but the words do not make sense..impossible to follow story line...
I cant get over the fact that the writer is trying to show as if the male lead has committed a grave sin. First he didnt know she was pregnant because she never told him. Second right from the start she never communicated anything. She was unbothered even during her marriage. I am not saying the male lead is great but atleast he seems like a human with emotions unlike her. And there is no context for why she is so emotionless....
The female lead is not charming but an unbothered b word, there is a very big difference. There is no point of extending this story at all because even if you write 1000+ chapters at 1001 the male lead would still be doing everything for her and she wouldnt bat an eye even if someone killed him. I mean honestly either the start should have been written better where we do understand that she was deeply affected because of her divorce or just STOPPPPP. Even for fiction it is annoying....
