Rowena could not take it anymore and glared at Winter. She was about to say something when Noelle took the wedding invitation over from Winter. She opened it and glanced at the contents.
“The third of next month is a great date!” Noelle closed the invitation. “We’re sisters, after all. Of course, I’ll be at your wedding.”
There was no sign of a hurt expression on Noelle’s face. She took things in her stride and this surprised Winter slightly.
Winter had thought that Noelle would at least look slightly forlorn. Did she underestimate Noelle or was Noelle just forcing herself to be calm?
She stared at Noelle, trying to find any hint of unhappy feelings from Noelle. However, Winter ended up being disappointed.
Noelle had been reacting normally so far since accepting the invitation.
“I’m happy that you’re able to come. We’re sisters, after all. And you and Xavier used to be…” Winter bit her lip a little sadly at this point. “You and Xavier used to be good friends. You must be happy that we’re getting married, right?”
Noelle smiled. Even her eyes were twinkling when she looked at Winter. She did not look as sad as Winter expected. All Noelle did was look back at Winter while wondering how long Winter would keep this up. Winter was disappointed with Noelle’s reaction.
Many of their classmates were attending this reunion, and Winter was a huge celebrity. Everyone’s focus was on her, and they looked at each other when they saw the interaction between both sisters.
The look on Winter’s face froze. She felt like her attacks were going nowhere, and it felt frustrating. Winter bit her lip. “Are you still mad at me, Noelle?”
