Noelle smiled. “To be honest, I’ve never heard of Charles Hoffman having a nephew.”
“You…” Winter’s face fell. She glared at Noelle but quickly wiped away the stiff expression on her face when she saw everyone else’s reaction. “You’ve never met Charles Hoffman before, Noelle. And you don’t know about the Hoffman and Harris families at all. Their relationship is quite complicated.”
“Really?” Noelle did not comment on anything nor attempt to continue the conversation.
Rowena smiled at the side. When she saw the way Winter was acting, she whispered into Noelle’s ear, Looks like she doesn’t know that you and Charles Hoffman are married. If she finds out you’re married to him, will she regret trying force a connection to him?”
Noelle gave Rowena a glance. “What do you think?”
Rowena shrugged. “Come to think of it, did Winter really sign a contract with Royal Star? Doesn’t Royal Star belong to your husband?” This was the main information Rowena had gotten from the conversation.
She was a reporter and was pretty sensitive to gossip.
That conversation did not sound like it contained much, but if one really thought about it, one would be able to catch the crux of the situation. “Why would your husband sign Winter to his company and meet her? Shouldn’t he be helping you deal with Winter and give her a hard time?”
Rowena had wondered why the internet was filled with news about Winter being a proper lady and updates of her upcoming wedding not long after Winter’s reputation was ruined. Her scandals from before were covered up because of this.
