Chapter 380
Chapter 380
“You…”
Yevgen stepped back, completely shocked by how harsh Noelle’s words were. In his memory, Noelle was not someone who refused to give others a chance. “Is it because of this man’s status? Is it because he’s richer than me?”
Noelle felt a headache coming on, realizing that reasoning with Yevgen was pointless. “Think whatever you want, but the truth is, there’s no possibility between us.
“Mr. Carter, you’ve already wasted a lot of my time. I’ve said everything I needed to say, and I don’t want to continue this conversation. Please don’t bother me again.”
She quickly opened the car door, slipped inside, and shut it firmly without a second thought.
Yevgen stared at the closed car door, his expression dark with frustration. His fists clenched tightly as he lifted his gaze to Sean, who wa just standing there, looking utterly relaxed. Sean’s demeanor was nothing short of mocking, making Yevgen feel even more humiliated.
He glared at Sean fiercely. “Don’t think you’re so great just because you have money. Noelle is just temporarily deceived by you. She’ll see your true colors eventually, and she’ll then fall for me!”
Sean smirked, crossing his arms over his chest. Truth be told, if it were not for Noelle’s involvement, Sean would not have even glanced at a man like Yevgen, let alone tolerated his arrogance.
“Mr. Carter, it seems you’re still deluded,” Sean said with a cold laugh. When it came to being sharp- tongued, Sean could easily be a match for anyone. “Even if I weren’t the one standing here, Noelle would still have no interest in you.”
He then paused as he looked Yevgen up and down with his icy gaze.
Sean was already tall and imposing. When he straightened up fully, he towered over Yevgen, making the difference between them starkly apparent. “If you truly liked Noelle, you’d understand the kind of person she is. But just now, you accused the woman you supposedly adore of being materialistic. That shows you don’t truly love her.
“Men often desire what they can’t have–it’s a common flaw. But some men fulfill their desires while others never will.” Sean slipped one hand into his pocket and curled his lips into a disdainful smile. “You, Mr. Carter, belong to the latter group, the kind with no real ability.”
Sean circled around to the driver’s side and got into the car. Without giving Yevgen a chance to reply, he stepped on the gas and sped away.
The sports car
powerful acceleration kicked up a cloud of dust that swirled around Yevgen. He stood there with a dark expression and clenched his fists tightly before slowly loosening them. He watched the car grow smaller in the distance until it finally disappeared.
A sense of defeat washed over him.
He could not deny it–everything Sean had said was true. But Yevgen could not accept it. He had loved Noelle for so many years, believing that if he just tried hard enough, she would one day notice him and accept him.
