Noelle stood up, pointing at her own slippers. She then raised one foot close to Charles', wiggling it in the air. "Look, these are mine. We have a matching pair! Don't you think they're lovely? Aren't they pretty?"
As she swayed her foot, Noelle grabbed Charles' arm. However, her movement was a bit too enthusiastic, causing her to nearly lose balance. Luckily, she held onto his sleeve. She giggled sheepishly as she repeated the question, "Don't you like them?"
Just then, Noelle's hopeful gaze met Charles' eyes. He narrowed his long eyes slightly, then gently tapped Noelle's nose. "I do like them."
"If you like them, put them on quickly!" Noelle urged.
Faced with Noelle's eager anticipation, Charles could only put on the slippers with a resigned smile. "Did you go to the mall alone?"
"Nope!" Pleased with Charles's cooperation, Noelle wrapped her arms around his neck. She stood on tiptoes to kiss the corner of his mouth, then hung onto his neck with a grin. "I invited Peter and Sean over for dinner today!"
"Oh?" Charles' eyes narrowed. There was a glint of sharpness in them. "Why'd you invite them? From now on, don't let them in when I'm not here. Even if they're my friends."
"Oh, how possessive!" Noelle pretended to be troubled, biting her finger and sighing softly. "But I also invited Rowena and Teresa today!"
Hearing this, Charles relaxed his expression. Realizing the little minx had tricked him, he put on a serious look on his face. "Well, well, my wife's becoming quite cunning, isn't she?"
His hands found Noelle's waist, tickling her lightly.
Noelle immediately squirmed in his arms, begging for mercy, "I'm sorry! Charlie, I'm sorry! Please stop, I'm ticklish!"
