Charles' eyes flickered as he gently kissed Noelle's forehead. "How did I lie to you?" he asked softly.
"You said just once. But how many times was it?" Noelle mumbled with her eyes half-closed.
"Hmm? I think you misunderstood, my dear," he replied with a slight smirk.
Noelle protested weakly, "Next time, you're sleeping in the guest room."
"Come on, don't fall asleep yet. I'll carry you for a bath," Charles whispered in her ear, but Noelle was already drifting off. "I'm so tired," she murmured.
Charles shook his head in amusement. He then carried her to the bathroom.
Meanwhile, she kept her eyes closed the entire time and eventually fell asleep.
After bathing her, he gently placed her back in bed and tucked her in. He then changed into casual homewear and went to his study.
In the study, the desk was cluttered with blueprints and data sheets. Charles picked one up, his eyes narrowing as he examined the calculations. With a slight smile, he sat down, marking key points on the blueprint and recalculating a set of data on a fresh sheet.
Later that night, Charles called Ronald. "How's the situation with Suzy being handled?"
