The Contracted Ever After (Cordelia and Ronan) novel Chapter 106

As soon as Ronan mentioned cream pasta and fried steak, Cordelia's mind began to wander. Another person, someone she knew, was particularly fond of these two dishes as well.

Tomorrow, Cordelia planned to visit this person, but she didn't share this plan with Ronan.

When she arrived at the office, the first thing Cordelia did was to transfer some money to Jamie. It was the money she had borrowed from Ronan to buy a computer, and she hadn't spent a dime of it. Then, she sent back The CPA Success Blueprint and the notes on financial management that Jamie had given her, indicating that she had settled her debt with him.

She sent Ronan a message with the transfer record and the tracking number of the package and then wrote two words. [All clear.]

Ronan's reply was short. [Good.]

Even though there had been no issue of debt between her and Jamie before, this "all clear" was more of an expression of Cordelia's attitude.

She was afraid that one day, Ronan would put her in a position where she couldn't get herself out.

For the first time, Cordelia brought her own homemade food to the office. At lunchtime, she couldn't help but post a photo of her lunch on Facebook.

Ronan commented. [Don't forget about tomorrow.]

Cordelia responded with an "OK" hand sign emoji.

The post, unsurprisingly, received a lot of likes from her coworkers—this was the first time Ronan had ever commented on someone else's Instagram post.

All her colleagues who was her friends on Facebook, naturally, liked the post as well.

That night, Cordelia prepared the meals and made roast beef, chicken breast, and fried steak for Ronan the next day. Plus, she also prepared some coffee for him.

She didn't make lunch for herself, as she planned to take the day off.

When Ronan saw there was only one lunch on the table, he asked, "Where's my lunch?"

"Darling, this is your lunch. I took the day off yesterday. I need to visit a classmate today."

"A classmate?" Ronan frowned.

"Yes, I'm not lying this time." Cordelia said pitifully.
