Cordelia's tears were dripping into the sink. Upon seeing this, Janice got a fright. "What's wrong, ma'am?"
"I'm okay. Just feeling a bit under the weather. I think my period's here," Cordelia replied.
After leaving the kitchen and passing through the living room, Cordelia said to Ronan, "You guys keep chatting. I'm gonna head upstairs and rest for a bit."
A few days earlier, Cordelia had felt some abdominal pain and chest tightness. As expected, her period had arrived. After putting on a sanitary pad, Cordelia sat on her bed, hugging her knees.
Ronan didn't come up until a while later. "Why didn't you come down?" He asked.
"I'm on my period, and my tummy hurts. I'm planning to go back to my place tomorrow. Oh, and I might not be able to make lunch for you," Cordelia said, her back to Ronan, facing the window, hugging her knees.
Ronan sat on the sofa across the room, seeing a hint of sadness in Cordelia's eyes. Seeing Cordelia's sudden change in mood, he asked, "Are you just gonna drop me after you've got what you wanted?"
"What?" Cordelia looked up at him.
There was a joking tone in his voice. "Got a raise, and you kick me to the curb, isn't that using and discarding me?"
"No such thing." Cordelia lowered her head, resting it on her knees.
"Do you mind that I see you as a replacement?" Ronan suddenly said.
Cordelia was taken aback, clearly shocked. She raised her head, looked at Ronan in surprise, then lowered her gaze in disappointment.
"You're not her replacement!" Ronan said. He knew why Cordelia was upset. He guessed it was probably because he'd asked Deanna about the sandalwood soap, and Deanna deliberately used it.
"Then whose replacement am I?" Upon hearing this, Cordelia's voice choked with tears. She wasn't Deanna's replacement, but she was a replacement.
"Well..." Ronan tried to remember. He had only smelled the sandalwood soap on that girl, and her hand was soft. When he unwrapped the bandage, the person he saw was Deanna. So, she was also Deanna's replacement, but that feeling from then, he couldn't get it back.
"Do you care so much because you have feelings for me?" Ronan asked Cordelia, playfully pinching her chin.
