The Contracted Ever After (Cordelia and Ronan) novel Chapter 122

At Lumos Plaza.

First off, Ronan took Cordelia to the women's clothing section. He had a unique taste, picking out heaps of clothes from the racks and asking Cordelia to try them on.

He sat on a sofa waiting for Cordelia.

Cordelia hesitated, feeling a bit shy to try them on.

"What's up?" asked Ronan.

Cordelia lowered her head, whispering to Ronan, "I'm on my period. I'm afraid I might stain the clothes."

"Really?" Ronan picked up some clothes, checked the sizes, and selected a few for Cordelia.

The clothes Ronan selected were simple yet elegant, made from high-quality materials. They weren't particularly flashy in style, but when worn, they exuded a sense of utmost sophistication.

If it were in the past, Cordelia might not have noticed these clothes.

Next, he took Cordelia to buy bags.

"I don't need a bag. I don't really like them." Cordelia waved her hand.

"Do you think I haven't embarrassed myself enough today? Even if I can bear it, I can't accept you being like this. Go buy some more expensive bags than the one you had today." Ronan lightly patted Cordelia's back.

Left with no choice, Cordelia browsed around, finally setting her eyes on a bag from Hermès. It was made of canvas material, looked very similar to a laptop bag, and was rather low-key. The price was okay, so she bought two, spending a total of eight thousand dollars.

Then Ronan took Cordelia to the men's section.

Ronan asked Cordelia to pick out ties for him; he needed ten for the evening. Although Cordelia felt a bit dissatisfied, she still did as he asked, picking one tie after another, trying them on Ronan and finally carefully selecting ten.

"Okay, go pay." Ronan said.

But he neither gave Cordelia money nor a card. "Me?" Cordelia was speechless. Ronan's ties were over five hundred dollars each, so ten would be six thousand.

"Yes, you."

"Do I have to pay for my own clothes too?"

"Who else would pay for them?" Ronan stated as if it were obvious.

Cordelia thought to herself: Ronan wasn't usually stingy. What was going on today?

The total spending for the night exceeded fifty thousand. Cordelia unwillingly swiped her card.

When she left Ronan in the future and didn't have that much money left, she wondered if she'd feel bad about it.

The last time Cordelia received a hundred grand from Ronan, she used it to hire a nurse for her mom and pay for hospital bills. Just now, she spent over fifty grand , now only having a bit over twenty grand left. The monthly cost of making shirts for Ronan was also shouldered by Cordelia. The little money left was needed to pay for her mom's hospital bills.
