The Contracted Ever After (Cordelia and Ronan) novel Chapter 193

When Cordelia was trying to sleep, the sound of Ronan tossing and turning in bed kept her awake. After all, this was the punishment Barney had given him.

At first, Ronan was a bit hesitant, but eventually, he just rolled over and landed on Cordelia. "Don't you miss me at all?" he asked harshly. In the dark, his voice was deep and raspy.

"I see you every day, what more do you want?" Cordelia shot back.

"Don't you know what I miss about you?" With that, Ronan planted a kiss on Cordelia's lips.

Cordelia felt like he was a starving wolf, ready to tear her apart.

At the office.

After finishing her diary, Cordelia drew a star at the end of it.

She also wrote. [Ronan, the promise breaker, doesn't even listen to Barney!]

"Where is Cordelia? That cunning woman..." a raucous noise came from outside the door.

Just as Cordelia closed her diary, Manda burst in.

Manda's hatred for Cordelia ran deep.

Not just anyone could enter the Audit Department, so the security guard followed, trying to calm Manda down.

"You sly fox, you got the Proxima Ventures project, and why are you showing off? He’s so restless these days. What's so great about getting the project through Ronan?" Manda yelled at Cordelia.

Cordelia just wanted to know, “I just got a file, so why did that piss off Manda?”

"What are you doing in Lumos Enterprises' Audit Department? If he's not capable, what does that have to do with Cordelia?" Milana's voice wasn't loud, but it was sharp.

Cordelia felt that something was off about Manda this time.

Cordelia didn't reply. Her mood was complicated. She didn't write down what happened in her diary, and continued to have lessons in Ronan's office in the afternoon.

Emerson wasn't there. Ronan was playing indoor golf, he looked really cool swinging the golf club. He got the ball in the hole in one shot.

Cordelia usually saw him reading, so she didn't know he was good at golf.

Ronan was always very calm. His calmness made Cordelia uneasy. "Where is Mr. Emerson?" Cordelia was very nervous. She put her diary on Ronan's desk as she asked.

Ronan didn't ask her why Jamie had visited the Audit Department. Cordelia knew that her colleagues in the Audit Department were good at keeping secrets, so hadn't Ronan heard?

Or was he tired of it?

"I've got something to do downstairs. Study by yourself today." With that, Ronan left.

Cordelia was alone in his office, she didn't feel like reading anymore. Suddenly, the phone rang, Cordelia answered. It was a delivery.
