The Contracted Ever After (Cordelia and Ronan) novel Chapter 284

Cordelia wasn't sure if they had kissed before. Maybe it was their influence, or maybe...

She couldn't figure out why she had acted as she did. But what kind of impact would it have on Brooklyn when she found out that Edwin's kiss was actually influenced by Cordelia?

If it wasn't their first kiss, it might not matter. But if it was, wouldn't that be disastrous for Cordelia and Brooklyn's friendship? Cordelia prayed that day would never come.

When Edwin and Brooklyn returned to the picnic place, Edwin seemed a bit awkward, while Brooklyn's eyes sparkled with excitement.

By two in the afternoon, the picnic was over, and they each headed home. On the way, Cordelia sent Brooklyn a message on Messenger: [Edwin sure knows how to kiss.]

Brooklyn responded with a flurry of emojis, pink hearts bubbling out of each one: [Don't remind me. It was my first time.]

Cordelia leaned back in her car seat, feeling anxious. She had a feeling that her friendship with Brooklyn would face a major challenge in the future. She used to like Edwin a lot, but now, she felt a bit resentful towards him.

Basking in the warm sun, Cordelia grew sleepy and dozed off. When she got home at four, she retreated to her room for some rest. But that night, she left her door unlocked.

These days, Ronan sometimes slept in his own room next door, and other times he slept in Cordelia's bed. He never touched Cordelia though.

Tonight, however, Cordelia left her door ajar for the first time. When Ronan got into bed, Cordelia was reading a book, but her mind wasn't on it.

Seeing that Ronan showed no intention of making a move, she whispered, "Don't you want to?"

Ronan stroked Cordelia's body, but he wasn't in a hurry. He gazed into Cordelia's eyes. "You're still so sensitive." He whispered in Cordelia's ear, tickling her.

Under his intense gaze, Cordelia felt a burning sensation on her face and body, and her breathing grew heavier. He always had this effect on her.

But he wasn't eager to take the next step, leaving Cordelia feeling empty. Then, Ronan suddenly withdrew his hand from Cordelia's body. He left her hanging in the heat of the moment. He was an experienced player.

Cordelia felt like a woman who was about to "sell herself". The buyer had agreed on a price and she was very satisfied, but then the buyer suddenly backed out for some unknown reason, leaving Cordelia feeling disappointed. At the same time, she wanted to ask, what was wrong with her? Did he not want to upset her pregnancy?

She hadn't given him the "reward" successfully as she promised, which annoyed Cordelia. Cordelia's mind was in a whirl, and she fell asleep feeling awkward.
