The Contracted Ever After (Cordelia and Ronan) novel Chapter 309

At night.

Cordelia was cross with Ronan, and the recent passing of her grandmother had her tossing and turning in bed, unable to sleep.

“Stop moving,” Ronan mumbled, running his hand over her belly. He had his eyes closed, desperately trying to suppress his desires.

But Cordelia couldn't sleep, and it was impossible for her to stay in one position. Her restless fidgeting in bed only served to stoke Ronan's arousal.

“I said stop moving!” Ronan's voice was low and filled with a stern rebuke for Cordelia.

“Why don't you go sleep in your own bed?” Cordelia retorted.

Ronan couldn't take it anymore. He reached over and grabbed Cordelia’s boobs. “If you’re teasing me, then let’s do it.”

His grip was painful, making her feel like she was about to explode. Cordelia struggled, but he was persistent.

Exhausted after the orgasm, Cordelia finally fell into a restless sleep.

Ronan’s actions made Cordelia so annoyed that she wouldn’t look at him when she woke up. It’s not like she had been purposely teasing him.

The next morning, Cordelia got up for breakfast.

“Has he gone? Did he take his packed lunch?” Cordelia asked Janice.

“He took it. No social obligations today,” Janice replied with a smile.

Janice had prepared a hearty breakfast for Cordelia, who had filled up three lunch boxes.

After a busy morning, Cordelia messaged Brooklyn on Facebook Messenger. [What’s for lunch?]

[Ordered takeout.]

[Shall we eat together in the conference room on the first floor? I’d like to have a chat with you.] Cordelia suggested, wanting to talk to her best friend about her grandmother’s passing.

She felt guilty for not attending her grandmother's funeral. Although she was pregnant, the feeling of being an ungrateful grand-daughter still lingered.

“Sure.”

“Ugh.” Brooklyn’s face fell at the mention of Edwin. He was a sore spot for her.

Cordelia thought the topic would be dropped, but Brooklyn pressed on, “Can Mr. Evans resist?”

“No,” Cordelia admitted. She thought about Ronan at home, the way he looked at her, and his moves in bed; everything was filled with an implicit tease.

“So, what does he do? Did you buy him a blow-up doll or something?”

Cordelia didn’t really want to discuss this topic while eating. “Well, there are other places he can… you know. If he doesn't do it at least two or three times a day, he feels like he wasted the day.”

Brooklyn looked puzzled. “Where else can he…?”

“Don’t ask. You’ll understand when you’re older. Even kids know this stuff. How come you don't?” Cordelia blushed as she continued eating.

“But did you know before he did it?” Brooklyn teased Cordelia.

“Pfft,” Cordelia scoffed. “Get serious.”
