"Jeremy, you have to be happy... You must find happiness."
As I made my way toward the dressing room, my steps faltered at the sound of a woman sobbing.
Why was she calling out my boyfriend’s name—the name of the man I had been with for seven years?
Curiosity got the better of me, and I peered through the slightly ajar door.
The sight inside made my heart clench.
The man who was supposed to be at our wedding, my boyfriend Jeremy Herson, was holding a woman dressed in a wedding gown.
"Branka, you look just as stunning in this wedding dress as I imagined," he said softly, brushing a gentle kiss against her lips.
Branka? Could she be Jeremy’s first love, Branka Calvine?
My body trembled involuntarily, and at that moment, I understood why Jeremy had left me standing at the altar.
He had rushed off to find his first love.
Today was supposed to be my wedding day—a day I had looked forward to for so long.
But during the ceremony, as Jeremy leaned in to kiss me, he froze.
Following his gaze, I saw her.
She stood out among the crowd, wearing a wedding dress, her eyes red-rimmed as she looked at Jeremy.
A commotion broke out among the guests. The woman in the wedding dress had run off.
Jeremy's face immediately filled with panic. Snatching the microphone from the emcee, he announced, "The wedding is on hold!"
With that, he bolted after her.
I stood there, my hand frozen in mid-air, waiting to receive the ring.
Forcing myself to remain composed, I ignored the curious and mocking gazes of the guests and followed Jeremy.
That was when I saw the scene in the dressing room.
