“Eunice, where did you come back so early? Didn’t you tell Granny that you will stay in Riverside City for more than a week?” Old Mrs Scott asked as she looked at the young lady who was sitting next 

to her in the dining room. 

*Granny believe me! I didn’t want it to seem as if I was lying to you. How can I lie to my beautiful and most clever grandma?” Eunice asked with a grin as she looked at the old woman with white hair on 

her head. 

When Old Mrs Scott heard her words, she snorted, saying.” You have an interesting tongue and your words can make anyone forget that they were supposed to reprimand you.” 

Eunice smiled when she heard that but didn’t say anything. She just lowered her head and started 

eating her food. 

“Eunice, why are you here? Marie told me that you guys are going to a designer in Riverside so that she can design her wedding dress,” Mrs Scott asked immediately as she walked in. 

“What! How can that bastard marry that woman even after I told him not to? Is he planning on defying my orders? Does he think that I am not his grandfather who had the strongest say in this place. 

because I am an old woman?” Old Mrs Scott replied angrily. 

Eunice was also surprised as Marie never told her what they were going to that city to do. She also knew that since the Anderson banquet, her mother’s attitude towards Marie had changed thus she jus couldn’t understand why the latter chose to tell her mother and didn’t tell her. 

“Mom, are you sure? She never told me what we were going there to do in the first place,” Eunice asked her mother who had taken a seat on her opposite side; they were facing each other. 

“Mmh. That girl knows that I don’t want her to marry Damien anymore. I told her to stay away from my 

son but instead of doing what I asked of her, she told me that Damien had given her a card for her to 

go to the neighboring city to get a designed wedding dress and that after that, they will get in a 

month. I was so furious but what I can really do?” Mrs Scott asked. 

Eunice didn’t know what to say and she even never knew in the first place that the money Marie was flossing with wasn’t hers but her brothers. She didn’t know what to say as she was speechless and at the same time ashamed to say that the woman was her so–called best friend. Also, she never thought that the latter would one day talk to her mother in that manner just for her to get married to her brother. She just felt that the current Marie wasn’t worth being her brother’s wife with her behavior

“Although I am embarrassed and disgusted by what Marie did, I can only say that Amanda hated us so much. I hate her too till now for what she has done to me in the past and I will make sure that she pays for all the humiliation and pain she has caused me,” Eunice said making both women turn and look 

at her. 

They wondered whether they had heard the right thing, her ears were playing with them, or that Eunice 

didn’t just know what she was saying. 

“You? How will you make her pay? Do you want to humiliate yourself more? Or anger the Andersons t the point that they completely wipe out our family?” Mrs Scott asked angrily as she just couldn’t 

believe it.
