“Yes, he might now compare to them but I am sure that he will learn and be one of the best. Didn’t! learn and become just like them after uniting with you after being away for twenty years? Or are you going to look down on me too?” Amanda asked coldly making the old man look at her in shock. 

He had never expected that his granddaughter would one day talk to him in such a tone. 

“What are you shocked? Do you think that I had any choice that night? Do you think that I wanted to be drugged and sleep with a stranger or that I drugged myself?” Amanda asked coldly and angrily and no one stopped her as they understood her pain and hurt. 

“Dad, you shouldn’t have said what you have said. She hasn’t even recovered and you have started causing trouble? We have stayed here in peace thus kindly don’t ruin it. Since you came back, Amand was nearly killed because of your tricks and plan and now that she has suffered in her enemy’s hands you don’t even sympathize with her but only think of how to marry off your granddaughter. Why do yo keep insisting on Amanda marrying that guy when even Ariana hasn’t gotten married? Or is Amanda your granddaughter as she has been away unlike Ariana?” Mr Anderson asked angrily. 

“I am doing it for her good!” the old man retorted. 

“For her good? Then kindly don’t! We will find a good husband for our daughter when she is ready to get married and if she doesn’t want to then we have enough money to raise her,” Mrs Anderson said calmly but her eyes were cold.

When she arrived at her room, she called her brother, Alex. 

“Hello, kid. Sorry, I am caught up here and can’t come back home,” Alex said immediately after he picked up the call. 

“There is no problem. Just continue with your work. I called because I need your help,” Amanda said without beating around the bush. 

“Pfft. You just call me when you need my help and not when you miss me. I am even starting to wonder whether you have ever missed me,” Alex said in a low wrong tone making Amanda face herself. 

“You should join Ace and start acting as you are pretending now. I can even sense it here,” Amanda said as she didn’t feel the need to flatter him and curry favor.
