Bella looked up, her clear eyes meeting Justin’s fervent gaze.

She understood him, and nothing more needed to be said.

The trio walked to the top floor, past the narrow corridor, to the door of the last unit.

Before they could even knock on the door, an old lady with a cane wobbled in their way.

Their suits made the old lady shudder, and she stamped her cane on the ground. “W-Why are you here again? Do you think you can do whatever you want because only Rachel’s mother is around? They said they wouldn’t take you to court anymore. What more do you want? Are you trying to push them over the edge?”

Justin and Bella exchanged glances. Enough was said for them to figure out what had happened.

The Iversons must have threatened Rachel and her mother. It was clear that the Iversons threw their weight around.

“No, ma’am. Please calm down. We are not with them. We are here to help Rachel and her mother.”

Ian went up to explain, but instead of listening, the old lady swung her cane.

“Get lost! I’ve lived long enough on Earth. I’m not scared of your threats. I’ll fight you! I watch Rachel grow up, so she’s like a granddaughter to me. She’s a nice and kind kid. I can’t let you bully her. Get lost!”

She waved her cane around wildly.

It was plain to see that the old lady would not hold back on them.

Unable to dodge the attack, Ian took the hit and gasped in pain.

Justin was quick to snatch the cane from the old lady before the second wave of attacks.

“Don’t hurt her, Justin!” Bella stopped him in a panic.

“We mean no harm, ma’am.”
