“Bella, do you recognize the number?”

“Should we answer it then?” Justin asked, brows furrowing.

Typically, Bella never answered calls from unknown numbers, and it was rare for her to receive them.

“Hello,” Bella answered, her voice gentle.

“H-Hello.”

On the other end of the phone, a timid, soft, and gentle voice of a young woman emerged, sounding slightly similar to that of her younger sister.

Bella and Justin exchanged glances. Then, she quickly put the phone on speaker and began recording. “May I ask who is calling?”

“Is this Ms. Bella Thompson?” The girl asked softly.

“Yes, this is Bella Thompson speaking.”

“I… I’m Rachel Mead.”

The couple tensed up, especially Bella, whose heart pounded like a drum, her fingertips trembling and her palms sweating.
