The Divorced Heiress Revenge (Bella Thompson) novel Chapter 1397

Jamed yelled at Coral. “What have I told you? Stop prying into my business and stop worrying about me! Now you’re going out of your way to sympathize with that lowly girl. Are you trying to challenge me? Everything I do is for the good of our Iverson family!”

Coral was beaten until her vision went completely dark and her ears buzzed. She quickly changed her tune in a panic. “No, it’s not about sympathy. I’m doing this for your own good. After all, having someone’s blood on your hands is never a good thing. If the police happen to link it to you, even without solid evidence, it would affect your reputation. Christopher might see it as an opportunity to challenge you and threaten your position in the group. Plus, even if you have a good relationship with Charles, there isn’t a need to get blood on your hands for him.”

Upon hearing that, James’ expression softened a bit, and he scoffed, “Hmph, do you really think I don’t have a backup plan? How naive of you! I’m just helping Charles in order to keep Dad happy. Can’t you see the obvious stakes here? And who said anything about me getting blood on my hands? My hands are clean. Even if they look into it, they will never find anything.”

James stared at her with a threatening gaze, gripping her jaw firmly. "Coral, as husband and wife, we’re in this together. I believe you’ll keep our secrets for the sake of your father’s retirement from politics as well as your brother, right?”

Coral nodded with tears in her eyes.

Bella and Justin brought Rachel back to their mansion in Savrow for the sake of her safety.

The grand and elegant villa, along with the serene lake in the backyard, left this poor girl greatly impressed. She had thought that the homes of wealthy heiresses must be extravagant, but she hadn’t imagined they could also be so warm and tasteful.

Everywhere exuded a subtle elegance, showcasing Bella’s impeccable taste.

“Rachel, don’t be shy. Just treat it as your own home,” Bella said gently. She didn’t bother Wilma but personally prepared and brought over a fruit platter for Rachel.

Rachel sat awkwardly on the sofa, her limbs seeming bound as she dared not touch anything, huddled up in a pitiful ball.
