The Divorced Heiress Revenge (Bella Thompson) novel Chapter 1402

Police cars and ambulances gathered in front of the old residential area. The residents were anxiously watching the events unfold as they heard about the violent break-in.

Ralph was worried and ordered his subordinates to bring the assassin back to the police station first. Meanwhile, he accompanied the ambulance to the hospital to ensure Ian and Rachel were taken care of. At the same time, he also called Bella and Justin to inform them of the situation.

In the ambulance, Rachel, who was in shock, wore an oxygen mask. The purplish hue had faded, leaving her with a distressingly pale face.

“Ms. Mead… You must stay alive… Nothing can happen to you.”

Ian’s face was battered and swollen from the fight, but he didn’t care about his own injuries. All he cared about was the girl’s safety. He held her delicate hand tightly throughout the journey.

“Her vital signs are currently stable, so don’t worry too much.” Ralph reassured him gently.

It was evident that Ian’s deep concern for the girl went beyond her role as a witness against Charles.

“How did you appear here out of nowhere?” Ian asked, trying to calm his chaotic thoughts.

“Bella thought it was a big deal to have Rachel testify. Since she’s still a minor, it’s only fair to let her guardian know. So I’m here to not just check on their situation but also speak with Rachel’s mother. After all, Bella believes that in her mother’s eyes, the police are far more trustworthy than she is.”

Ralph couldn’t shake off the weight of the consequences of his late arrival. A solemn expression clouded his usually composed demeanor. “I didn’t expect to encounter this kind of situation. It seems that some people are becoming impatient.”

Ian was shocked. Justin had sent him, while Bella sent Ralph. The two of them had not communicated privately, yet their thoughts and actions were surprisingly aligned.

People said that couples would grow to look alike as time passed. Has anyone heard of couples who thought alike?
