Late at night, at Savrow International Airport.
Under the calm atmosphere, a storm was brewing, with multiple crises looming.
Ralph had obtained an arrest warrant and joined forces with the customs department to hunt down Maxwell. They implemented stringent surveillance protocols to avoid causing public panic or disrupting flight operations.
Once Maxwell appeared, they were to capture him on the spot.
Throughout the airport, police officers in disguise were strategically stationed, complemented by personnel from the Thompsons and Hoffmans beyond customs.
Tonight, the airport had become a meticulously woven trap awaiting Maxwell’s arrival.
As time ticked away, Asher, Ralph, and Ryan stood vigilantly in the control room, their eyes fixed on numerous surveillance screens. Despite the tension and their strained eyes, they dared not relax.
“Mr. Asher, Captain Ralph, do you think...”
Sensing the oppressive atmosphere, Ryan coughed lightly and asked, “Do you think it’s possible that Maxwell has been missing for so long because he underwent plastic surgery? By now, he must’ve fully recovered. If he were to show up with a brand-new face right under our noses, we wouldn’t recognize him, right?”
Asher stared coldly at the screen, too engrossed to hear what Ryan was saying.
Out of politeness, Ralph glanced at Ryan and replied to him. After all, Ryan had worked hard to help out in this matter. “If he underwent plastic surgery, then how did he get noticed by the members of the Southern Star Syndicate?”
Ryan blinked his charming eyes and suddenly felt enlightened. “Ah… That makes sense! Haha!”
Ralph was at a loss for words. ‘They say friends are supposed to complement each other. Did Justin make friends with Ryan to highlight his intelligence and wit?’
“Wait a second. Zoom in on the center screen!” Asher commanded, his gaze fixed on the monitors, his muscular arms suddenly grasping the table’s edge.
The police officer promptly complied, opening up the central screen.
The next second, all three of them were stunned.
Suddenly, a strong, icy pressure filled the entire control room.
To their astonishment, the person on the screen was none other than Christopher. He was pushing a wheelchair with his mother seated in it, accompanied by his secretary, Taylor, and two bodyguards.
“Christopher?! How dare he show up here?!” Ryan erupted in fury, slamming his fist onto the table.
“Christopher’s private jet is here. It’s very likely that Maxwell is boarding his private jet to leave Savrow.”
Asher’s expression was frosty as he stared coldly at the screen. “For him to appear at this moment with his mother, he’s probably trying to divert our attention, using his identity to cover for Maxwell.”
Ralph nodded gravely. “I agree. It’s too coincidental. He must’ve planned this!”
“Damn it… Judging by how he’s rushing into our trap like this, Christopher is practically begging for trouble!” Ryan’s narrowed eyes seemed to emit sparks of anger.
Despite the tense situation, his sudden witty remark brought a faint smile to the Thompson brothers’ faces.
