The Divorced Heiress Revenge (Bella Thompson) novel Chapter 1449

Gregory felt like his throat had been stabbed, looking directly at Justin’s cold face. The authority of the aristocratic leader was about to crumble.

“Justin! You ingrate! If it were fake, I wouldn’t have gone against all odds and endured backlash just to bring you and your mother back from the slums to the Salvador family.”

He continued, “If it weren’t for me, you would have died in that dirty and smelly place long ago! Have you forgotten how ill your mother was at that time? She didn’t even have the money to go to the hospital for medical treatment! She couldn’t even support you! If it weren’t for me, how could she have recovered from her serious illness? How could you live a good life of being pampered and having everything you want?!”

Seeing the man in front of her being accused and treated unfairly, Bella felt distressed as an onlooker. Her heart burned with intense emotion, and her blood was boiling in her veins as she clenched her fists tightly.

Up until now, Gregory hadn’t been talking to his son as a husband or father. Instead, he came across more like a capitalist, acting high and mighty and offering fake generosity to Justin and his mother with a self-righteous attitude.

Although everything he said made sense, every word he said only implied one thing. He and Justin have never belonged in the same world. It was him, out of boundless generosity, who allowed Justin to escape from that wretched, filthy, stinking slum. It was his simple gesture that allowed Justin to be lucky enough to enter his world.

It was that natural arrogance and sense of superiority, rather than a direct insult, that made one feel more enraged and embarrassed.

“No matter what, I’m the one who raised you! Without me, where would you be today? Would you still have the audacity to be so disrespectful and rebellious to me?!” Gregory’s mouth was like a rapid-fire cannon. His eyes were red as he unleashed his fury on Justin.

Justin replied, “If I weren’t a boy but a girl instead, would you still have gone to such lengths to bring me back to the Salvador family? Would you still remember that there was a poor woman out there, nameless and destitute, struggling to survive, living in hunger and homelessness, solely responsible for nurturing your flesh and blood?”

“You insolent brat!” Gregory’s aristocratic demeanor finally crumbled, his embarrassment turning into rage as he swung his arm, aiming a slap at Justin’s cheek.

Justin remained unfazed. Only his stunning eyes radiated an intense hatred that sent shivers down one’s spine.
