The Divorced Heiress Revenge (Bella Thompson) novel Chapter 1507

Amelia suppressed her grievances and forced out her brightest smile, adding a touch of obedient charm. She spoke softly, “I heard you were ill. Steve came to see you immediately, which shows how much he cares about you. If you do not mind, may I take care of you for the next few days? Just let me know what you want to eat, and I’ll make it for you.”

Seeing this, Steven felt his heart aching. He could not help but wrap his arm around Amelia’s waist, pulling her into his embrace with a heavy breath.

He felt hurt that Amelia had to humble herself to please his family and had to endure all this just to leave a good impression on his parents. She was his treasure, yet at this moment, he felt as if he was humiliating her.

Chelsea initially felt a sense of pride seeing the Thompson family’s heiress trying so hard to please her. But when she saw Steve being affectionate with this girl right in front of her, she thought it was just a ploy to win them over and seduce her son. It was not genuine affection.

The next second, Chelsea sneered. “Ms. Thompson, there’s no need to trouble yourself. My son hired a professional caregiver for me. You are of noble birth and unused to chores. It would only shorten my life if you tried to take care of me.”

Amelia’s breath hitched. She bit her lower lip anxiously, her fair cheeks flushing with embarrassment.

“Mom! Amelia is being kind. Even if you don’t appreciate it, you shouldn’t say such sarcastic things to hurt her!” Steven frowned, tightening his grip on Amelia’s waist.

“What did I say? How was I being sarcastic? Does your mother not even have the right to speak?”

Chelsea’s eyes reddened with anger. She suddenly slapped the bed. “They say a son forgets his mother after he gets married... She hasn’t even married you yet, but you are already casting aside the mother who gave birth to you and raised you?”

“Mom... Please don’t get upset. You just got out of the ICU!” Hunter patted Chelsea’s back, playing the role of the dutiful son.
