The Divorced Heiress Revenge (Bella Thompson) novel Chapter 1525

“Mr. Iverson, are you afraid?”

Clarice snorted. “Even I know clearly about the things you did in Sentania. Now, we’re just searching for someone to sacrifice for a cause that would benefit generations to come. Mr. Iverson, are you hesitant?”

Christopher’s dark gaze shot toward the woman’s mocking and contemptuous face.

No, this woman was not at all like Bella. Bella was the only ray of light in his dark life—the beautiful butterfly fluttering around in his cold and hellish world.

Bella was his angel, while Clarice was merely a cold-blooded tool that Sir found—beautiful, obedient, and handy.

“Clarice, don’t say that. After all, it’s a human life. It’s reasonable for Mr. Iverson to have concerns.” The man’s voice was gentle, but the underlying threat was not to be ignored.

Christopher’s breath hitched, and he said in a low voice, “I’ll complete the task you’ve given me, Sir.”

“Thank you, Mr. Iverson. When you start the experiment, I’ll need you to assign someone to record the data and observe the subject’s reaction. Clarice will send you the details in two days.” The man’s smile deepened, obviously satisfied with Christopher’s answer.

“Sir, I’d like to ask, are there any side effects to DAD0044?” Christopher pushed his glasses with a cautious gaze.

“Mental confusion and convulsion are the more obvious ones. We’re still observing the hidden side effects.”

Clarice rubbed her chin as if she were thinking. “Hmm… It’s similar to a drug addict’s relapse.”

Christopher’s hands gradually clenched on his lap. “Sir, forgive my question, but why don’t you do it in Meridan? The regulations there are not as strict as in Savrow, and I’m in a deadlock with Bella and Justin, which you know. They might be monitoring all of my movements. Although I’m more than willing to serve you, my situation now isn’t great. I’m afraid it might hinder your plans.”
