The Divorced Heiress Revenge (Bella Thompson) novel Chapter 1541

After a moment of silence, Justin spoke in a deep tone. “Thank you for your reminder, Ian. But next time, if you speak so bluntly again, consider your year-end bonus at risk.”

Damn! Ian felt like his boss had just delivered him a fatal blow.

Meanwhile, in the bedroom, Bella had just taken a fragrant bubble bath and was sitting in front of the vanity, brushing her long, jet-black hair, lost in her thoughts.

Her hand moved the brush continuously, but her mind was elsewhere.

She replayed her conversation with Grant over and over in her head. For some reason, she felt a chill in her chest as if a cold wind had swept through, making her feel chilly all over.

That man, though polite, courteous, and seemingly sincere, gave her the feeling that he was subtly yet fiercely intruding on her space, triggering alarm bells in her mind.

This sense of oppression was entirely different from the feeling Justin, with his equally noble status, gave her.

Lost in her thoughts, Bella suddenly felt a heat on the nape of her neck and a weight on her shoulders.

“Ah.”

As Bella gasped softly, Justin’s arms wrapped around her from behind, his thin lips pressing a gentle kiss on her plump cheek, his voice husky and seductive. “Bella, what’s going on in your mind?”

“Your brother,” Bella blurted out.

Justin’s eyes darkened, a tumultuous wave surging in his heart, his eyes reddening at the corners.

Before she could explain further, Justin grabbed a slender waist and lifted her, his muscular right arm supporting her hips as he strode directly toward the bed.
