The Divorced Heiress Revenge (Bella Thompson) novel Chapter 1674

Bella’s breath hitched. “Asher, what do you mean?”

“Dad can no longer manage the company with his current physical condition. With this public scandal around me, it’s unsuitable for me to continue being the president.”

Justin felt his heart tighten. “You didn’t do anything illegal or harm anyone’s interests. Why is it unsuitable?”

“My existence will just become a liability.”

Asher’s expression was casual, devoid of emotion. “As long as I’m still in this position, the public will only think of those photos when they see me and nothing else. They will only remember that the CEO of KS Group is gay. I can disregard my image and become the laughing stock of the town, but not KS Group.”

“Asher, are you resigning? You don’t want to be the CEO anymore?!” Bella was so shocked that her voice trembled, feeling a wave of panic.

Asher’s eyes curved into a relieved smile. “Yeah, I’ve talked to Dad about this and made my intentions clear. Bella, do you remember what I said when you returned home to see Dad? I said you were the most suitable person to be CEO and the perfect successor for KS Group. Don’t feel bad for me. Honestly, I’ve been waiting for this day for so long. Being a CEO was never my ambition. I’ve felt pressured all these years and never relaxed. Now, you can finally take over, and I can finally live the life I wanted.”

“Asher… I was joking with you. I am indeed ambitious and eager for power… But, but…”

Bella’s nose reddened, and tears stained her eyelashes as she began to choke up.

Justin knew how she felt, and he pulled her into his arms in distress, surrounding her with a deep sense of security.

“Silly girl, you’re crying again.”

Asher quickly comforted her. “I’m only resigning as the CEO. It’s not a big deal. KS Group will be in your hands now. You always used to shout about bearing the responsibility, and now you’ve finally gotten your wish. You must be overjoyed! But in the future, you might be very busy, and it will more or less affect your relationship. For that, I’m truly sorry.”

“Asher, don’t say that.”

Justin’s hand tightened on Bella’s waist, veins bulging. His heart pounded wildly. “If we don’t want to be apart, I’ll marry Bella as soon as possible. I’ll do my best to accompany her and stick to her, as long as she doesn’t find me annoying.”

Bella bit her rosy lips shyly, leaning into his embrace. Her eyes curved into a lovely smile.

Asher smiled and teased, “My sister is a businesswoman. What if she becomes the breadwinner?”
